Start by checking out
this thread. It's pretty lengthy, but the first post has most of the info you need. I'd recommend reading through it before you buy the programming cable in order to get a feel for what you'll need and be doing.
If you do decide to go ahead with the flash, I can recommend user calvinvo on eBay for the cable & software. He currently has them available
here, and I can confirm that the package I received was exactly the one needed for flashing our KJ.
I've only just started in on this about three days ago, and have been asking a ton of questions in the thread linked above. The responses I've received may be helpful to you;
start here to pick up from where I came in.
One thing I will mention because I didn't fully understand it up front: the DIY tunes do not disable the MIL if you electrically disconnect either the AFM or FCV. If you can live with the Check Engine light being on after you do this, you'll be fine, but I wanted to mention it because I somehow managed to miss this point before I flashed the ECU in our KJ.
