Well, there's no going back now. 8)

I went ahead and hacked up my front bumper and flares, and installed a pair of Hella Optilux 1002 fog lamps, to replace the OEM ones.

I used a little rotary tool I bought from Costco (used a couple of cutting disks for most of it). It's not show quality by any means, but I'm going to throw the bumper away in a few weeks/months when I get my Rock Lizard bumper.

I'm pretty pleased with the cheap-o Optilux fog lights, but wow do they get hot! I turned them on to adjust them and they were too hot to touch within about 5 minutes!

Lookin good! Just a tip, when I hacked my OEM front bumber(same as yours) I got some of those foam door matts and cut out a piece to cover the washer fluid bottle so rocks and other debree wouldn't ruin it.Looks really good,Isn't fun to hack up your Jeep?

Thanks.

That's a good idea, but I need to reposition that bottle, anyway, in preparation for my RL bumper. I just can't find anywhere to put it! My engine compartment is totally full. Even if I pull out my stock airbox and install an air tube (which I really don't want to do), there's very little room.

Yeah, cutting away plastic is fun. :D Only problem is, every time I cut away a little plastic, I see a bunch more I'd like to get rid of.

Hehe...I noticed that, too. Kind of Marty Feldman-esque. It's just the picture, though. The wheels are turned just a bit to the right (facing it), so the left tire looks like it's pointed right at you, while the right tire appears to be going to the right. But my alignment is okay. 8)

Did you hack your bumper apart just to fit those lights or did you do it for tire approach angle.

The inner tire will always have more of turnin since it has to travel a shorter ditance than the outside tire. That's when you start getting intpo scrub angles. But the picture just exadurates the turn in.

Interesting look, but not too outrageous...

So are the OEM fogs for sale or are you hanging onto them for something else?

I didn't do it for the lights--they're not as good as the OEM lights. I cut the bumper away to get rid of some pretty nasty rubbing (due to Spidertrax spacers), and for approach angle. Oh, and I think it looks cool. :P I got the lights because they were cheap and I wanted to replace the OEM fogs with something.

Yes, I've seen that. I'm going to give it a shot, but there's only about an inch and a half between the cruise module and the coolant hose (or whatever that is). Maybe that'll work.

Well, they're almost 6 years old and they've been through a lot, but they work fine. I'll sell them cheap. The ideal thing would be if someone going to Moab needs them. That would save me the trouble of boxing them up and shipping them.

Could you use them?
