It was a fun time! One of the Wranglers had to be winched twice!! I have another video that is being sent to me sometime. I'll post it when I get it.

In that video no, didn't make it. I hit a rock! Believe me I was worried a couple of times about that 30a. I hit the brakes as soon as I could whenever they started that hopping! A locker is a must have for me at least in the rear. Then eventually the front will get one.

The hill in the video is so steep you have to get on all 4's to walk up it. When your about 1/2 way up all you see is the sky and tree tops! I'll show a pic I took out the windshield.

Here is the view:

so by live on the dangerous side does that mean your roof? Cause thats probably where you'd be if you gassed up an incline that steep and ran into trouble.

The hill is 100' high and the top 1/3 is very steep. You have to take it slow and there are ruts in it also. The one thing you don't want to do is try to back down the hill because you WILL end up going sideways...then rolling over. I always bypassed that hill before along with most people. I'll try it again the next time I'm down there. That rock and I have to come to an understanding about this!

Been there, done that.
Whether you are locked or not, the key to getting up and over is momentum. Doesn't mean you have to have the pedal to the metal, but at least enough speed to maintian adequate momentum. As you found out, once you stop it's all over and even lockers won't help in a steep incline on loose medium. If you can't safely back down, take a strap at that point or winch, as you will just dig in spinning your tires.

but pedal to the metal is so much fun *BOOM* j/k

I'm not saying gun it like a maniac bent on destruction, just go hard enough to get you over the top. I guess i just have a different mentality when it comes to wheeling

IMO next time you hit that hill, give it a little more gas in the begining, mass x velocity = energy, and the more energy you have going into the obsticle the less you have to generate during it.

What your saying about getting a run for the hill is true but in this case I couldn't because of the ruts.
