Which ones would you get?

If you could get either BFG All-terrain TA's, BFG Mud-terrain TA's, Mickey Thompson M/T Baja AT2 Radials, Procomp Radial All-terrains, or Toyo Open Country AT's which would you get?

They're all relatively close in price except the BFG mud-terrain's which are a little pricey.

First you have to decide whether you want an all-terrain tire or an M/T tire.

IMO, the best a/t tire is BFG's A/T. If you want a m/t tire look into goodyear mtr.

A/T tire is a good all-around tire. M/T are good off-road but, not so good on-road (tire noise, tread life, handling, etc..)

I just picked up some General Grabber AT's today and they are great so far. Nice and quiet, yet still pretty a aggressive tread design. They always get good reviews for offroad grip also, We will see soon. $600 for 5 including free replacement warranties from Discount Tire.

Yeah, I've looked at tire rack. They just don't have much in the stock size. I'm not entirely sold on the General Grabber AT2's. I like the way they look, but I've heard the only reason most people think they're so great is because they're going from such a crappy tire. I've heard the tread wear on them is horrible. So if I spend a little extra and get the BFG's and get twice as much mileage out of them then it's worth it to spend the extra money now instead of replacing them sooner. The other three brands, BFG, Procomp, and Mickey Thompson I've never heard anything bad about them. I've been leaning towards the AT's because of the road noise, etc of the M/Ts. Plus the BFG M/T's are 30 dollars a tire more than any of the others.

I don't know of anyone who run/ran ProComps on here. I'm a bit curious of the Mickey Thompson you're refering to, do you have a link. Searched google for "Mickey Thompson M/T Baja AT2 Radials" didn't find much. From those three, the BFG, is the most popular and never heard a bad comment about them. I was going to buy the BFG A/T in the 15" size but it rubbed. The 16" size was over my budget.

I think it may be between the BFG AT's and the Mickey Thompson's. I wish I could afford a lift kit too. Maybe next year's bonus. :-)

The Mickey Thompson ATZ's are sensational.

Very Quite, good ride, heaps of grip, deep tread. Great on the black stuff and excellent on sand/gravel roads. Also, high load rating so as you can really load up the vehcile, plus, the 245/75/16's are a true 10 ply tyre.

I have ran BFG A/T's, BFG M/T's Procomp M/T's, And Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revo. And currently run GoodYear Mt/R's. Once you figure if you want a A/T or M/T then you should post asking whats better. You can find M/T's that are not noisy......the BFG M/T's are not bad at all on noise. I personally would not run the mt/r's if i did not get a great deal on them with rubi wheels. If i were going to run an A/T tire i would run the Bridgestone, they seem to do better than the bfgs. They clean better and wear alot better.

For off-road performance (sand,mud,rock)the Mickey Thompson's got really good reviews as for street performance though they had decent drivability reviews but were mainly noisy. It's a very good tire.

Which ones would you get?
