the work is super easy besides the front coil overs, but they are not hard... and you can rent what ever specialty tools like the spring compressors from vato zone

yeah... i'm just worried i'll screw up and not be able to fix it... cause my parents wouldnt be too happy especially cause they hate when i do work to my truck. haha. plus i'd prob need another person i'm assuming so i'd need to find a buddy to help. either way it wont be done til after christmas time due to the fact i'll a little strapped for moeny. it'd prob be my x-mas gift and i'll be changing back to my 20's after the winter so i'll have an excuse to do it

so with an update... there is a guy with the same size wheel as me.. actually its another rim made by american racing. interesting enough he sits a 275/45/20 yokohama spec x with his eibach lowering springs. i have a 255/45/20 yokohama spec x. His wheel diam is 29.8" and mine currently is 29.0". He has slight rubbing issues so i wonder if the extra .4" on each side will help or alleviate the rubbing especially if i upgrade my shocks to blisteins... any thoughts?

Won't know for sure till you try. I think it will work. Worse case... you could add a spacer up front and an extra spring isolator in the back if needed.
Just do it! 8)

The shocks won't have anything to do with rubbing issues. The only way shocks would make any difference is if your current shocks were beat to hell and worn out. As Scar0 said the only way to know is to do it and find out. No one with a Liberty has done this so no one knows what to expect or how it will work out.

Side View of Nitro

Image

he writes this note about the previous picture :
"Observations made after adding at the same time Eibach lowering springs and 20"x8.5" Dale Earnhardt Jr DMP black chrome wheels (35mm offset) with 275/45-20 Yokohama Parada Spec-X tires to a SLT Nitro with 17" wheels...

275/45-20 tires will fit in the wheel well but you will have rubbing on the inner front and back of the black plastic - the two inch drop makes a difference in fit, I don't think (but may) you would have this problem if not lowered. I think a bigger offset will help too?

So you really have to watch out for the pot holes when turning, I think there will be a big thud against the wheel well."

Oh you would be close, but I think you would be fine since your overall diameter is .8 inchs smaller..

If not, you can all way rip out the liner and then no problems..

Thanks for doing that....

No, their isn't any more weight up front........ really the only diffs between the KK and the KA are the T cases and somewhere there is an extra 1.8 inches of body length. IIRC, the extra was either in the rear or it was in the mid section of the body....

No school today?

Nice :D

The time I had to go to school sucked.... as part of the apprentice program at work , I had to go to school from 7 am till 4:30 Monday through Friday. The program consisted of 60 credit hours that we cover in less then a year... so basically I got a associates degree in diesel technology with 6 months of true collage works and 6 months of hands training at work..... But I then spent the next year doing factory specific training with more hands on before I was done with the program.....

Yes

Well, while in HS, I was involved in a very advanced automotive class that was also a part time shop... In both my junior and senior years, I competed in both state and national competitions that offered really nice scholarships to different school.

At the end of my senior year, I had 3 choices,

1, take a full ride scholarship and become a ford factory trained mechanic,
2, take a 3/4th scholarship to DADC which is another diesel school
3, Find a automotive dealership that would sponsor me(give me a job) so I could do either the toyota T10 program, chrysler CAP, or the GM factory school

4, Work for a Caterpillar dealership....

Now #1 was a no go because I didn't want to spend a year in Nebraska and come back and have to find a job
#2, well lets just say we call DADC Denver Adult Day Care.....
#3 was a no go because 1, I couldn't find a dealership that would commit to me and 2, I didn't want to go to school for 8 weeks and then drive back to Denver from Farmington NM to work for 8 weeks and then drive back. # of my friends do the T10 program and ended up 12 grand in debt + their cost of tools. They also did the drive every 8 weeks for 2 straight years taking every including their tools to and from...

And last is number 4, In my mind it was a pretty good deal...In return for signing a 5 year contract, Wagner paid for my 2 year degree, provided 5K+ in tools as part of the contract and during the first 2 years, offered pay raises every 5 months at $1.20 a pop... so needless to say #4 was the better deal
