I have some cash burning a hole in my pocket, so I've made a list of what I want/need. On that list is a CB. My only problem is, I'm not sure where I would mount it if I do get it. I figured out the antenna already, and now it's just down to where I would want to mount the radio.

I did some searching and a lot of reading, however, most of the pics aren't working anymore. So can you guys and gals with CBs show some pics of where you mounted them?

It looks like a good spot by that elastic strap to the right of the driver's leg.
Where were you planning on mounting the antennae?

Planning on doing the tailgate mount. It sits in the door jam by the taillight or slightly up the pillar. Should be perfect with a 3' firestik. I don't think I'll really need a 4', especially after what I've been reading and everyone suggests.

That's why I thought until I started going out with everyone. You don't want to be the one they make fun of...err I mean the only one without a CB lol. Hence why I'm trying to see where everyone is mounting them.

I'm running the cobra 75 on mine and have absolutely love it. It really helps on group runs out here in the Texas rocks. I'll take a picture in a bit of where I have mine located, it's nice and isn't in the way.

I just recently installed my setup, probably 3 weeks ago. I used the cheapy CB from Walmart, I think it was $35. I've used it twice so far off-roading and haven't had any issues. I used the door jamb mount by the tailgate. I really like this setup, it works perfect with my 3' firestick antenna, the pic below is with my 4' antenna (too high IMO). I used regular TV coax (had plenty of extra in a storage box); if you already have some, it works perfectly fine, no need to buy more (or different kind) that website's will try to sell you. The cable is designed to handle video and audio for TV's so it'll handle just audio easily. I installed the radio by the drivers right leg on the center console, my leg hardly ever touches it, and my wife is short and the seat doesn't hit it when she slides it forward. I mounted the bracket and the screws on the side of the unit make it a quick install and remove when I need to. As you can see I ran the COAX through the tail light area (drilled the hole and put a rubber grommet in) then over the wheel well behind the paneling, under the carpet to the center console, I drilled a half-inch hole right beside the drivers seat at the bottom of the center console for the coax to come out (never see the hole unless you look for it). I used one of the write ups I found on the forum for routing the cable, it had good pics and was done well. Hope these pics help.

Great pics! Anyone else mount their radio it in a different location? I was also thinking about drivers side, left of the steering wheel. Kind of where the little compartment is. Anyone ever mount one there?

Sil10kk - What did you spray your mount with? I haven't seen a factory black one.

It was flat black rustoleum paint. I like the black on white look better :)

Not sure if that would work on KKs with solid roofs. I know with my sky slider, that would never fit. The way the overhead console is just takes up too much room. It does fit nicely on a KJ though.

Wish I could get away with that lol. In NY we need the heat in the winter, and ac in the summer. Too humid otherwise.

I found this topic:

InfernoRedKK, mounted his here:

I think I'll just end up buying one and sort out mounting it after... I just want someplace that will look clean and not be in the way.
