On my trip to the Poconos today the tire pressure light came on, flashed for a few minutes, then stayed on. I pulled off the highway and checked all 4 tires and they were all 32+ psi (no TPMS in my spare). I topped them off at 34 psi at a rest area just to be sure. Every time I stop the light turns off, but after driving for a while, especially at 55+, the light will now come back on.
Ok, so do you think the batteries in the tire pressure sensors are crapping out? It's an '08 with 50K miles.
What needs replacing, the batteries or the whole TPMS sensor (x4)? What kind of job is that? I imagine that the tires probably have to be off the rims to get to the sensor, which would need to be remounted and balanced.

If so I may wait until I replace my tires in another 25K miles.
I would love to hear how other people have dealt with this issue.
Thanks,
-LFH
