OK, this is Saturday....

Where?

What time?

What tools do we need?

Food?

Drinks?

What needs done other than a lift?

Anyone else getting any work done? If we get that thing up completely off the ground, Ted can knock out the front since he is most familiar with it, and I can do the back at the same time. Kevin will have the first set of KJ Super Skinks to install as well. Those won't take very long, as I have done enough of them now that I have a pretty good system figured out.

I was thinking if we knock this stuff out early enough, there is a meet and greet at the 4 Wheel Parts parking lot Saturday afternoon. It would certainly get some LOST Rockies exposure to the rest of crowd. You know most of the guys at a meet and greet would certainly have to check out some built, used and abused Libbys.

By abused, I think you are refering to my Junk aren't you???

As for the meet and greet, what are the hours. The lift will take time! It will be at least a 4 hour job for the front alone because the lower arms are a pain if you are going from stock straight to the frankie lift.

If we start early, it is doable...

Head south on Powers. Turn east on North Carefree. At the 2nd stoplight, turn right on Peterson Rd. Go through 1 stoplight, then turn left on Highland Vista. Immediately turn right on McGregor. Immediately turn left on Donnelaith Place. We're the 3rd house on the left, # 6830 Donnelaith Place.

I was planning on starting around 10, but if you guys want to start earlier, that's fine with me.

I'll provide the beer and burgers.

I have 2 ramps, but no floor jack or bottle jack.

I only care about getting the lift done. If we have time for the rock sliders, great. If not, no big deal.

The meet and greet sounds fun if we have time.

Thanks in advance guys!

Well, I will bring my hand tools, my 6T jackstands, and a 3T jack. I can bring a drill and bits, so when the back is done and the front is still being put together, we can work on the sliders too. The back is just coils and shocks, correct?

The meet and greet is at 4 Wheel Parts off of Academy, starting at 3PM and going until whenever. There is another M&G in Denver Sunday. I guess both M&G are in support of the troops serving overseas, spurred by a well known local jeeper that was serving in Iraq and was killed last month. Something like a big rally to support the troops, taking donations for care packages, etc., you know the stuff. It will be cool no matter what.

Well, if we start around 9 we should be able to finish in time for the M&G...

I will bring my air compressor and air tools. I also have another set of jack stands I can bring as well.

Awesome. 9am it is. The back end is coils, shocks, and bumpstops. We'll use the stock coils in the front (not that that makes it any easier.) How long do I need to let the suspension settle before getting an allignment?

A couple weeks is what I have been told. Perhaps with a Frankie, a few additional weeks perhaps.

Don't do it too soon but not too late (like me, 3 months).

It well pretty well. It was Kevin, Ted and I installing a Frankenlift on a CRD. Quite interesting. It was my first time ever seeing the IFS suspension torn apart, so I learned a lot. We had to install the stock coils on the new struts, instead of having the preassembled setup the 3.7L KJ's get, so we had to get creative pressing some studs out of the upper strut plate to put into the new replacement plates. We started about 10am and finished torqueing everything down by 5 or a little after. We got to the M&G area by 6, and everyone was gone, so we missed it. It was a good learning experience for all of us, and now I know what is involved, so once I get my shop up and running, I can start doing installs. I can honestly say this, I could install a 5" Cherokee lift in the same amount of time it took three of us to install a 2.5" KJ lift.:D I was about ready to do an SFA right then and there.

Kevin's KJ looks great, but I think he needs bigger tires than the 245's (?) he has now, and some 1.5" wheel spacers. Kinda looks like a roller skate, so widen that thing out a little bit. He has some Super Skinks to install as well.

Yup, things went pretty well but it would've been nice if the assembly was preassembled like the non-CRD Frankenlift. Regardless, I'm very happy with it. No clunks or weird noises. Can't wait for the springs to settle though...it needs an allignment. Big thanks to Ted and Marty. I'm just a noob, so I couldn't have done it without them. Next up are my Superskinks. What do you think: paint or Durabak/Hurculiner?? If paint, does anyone know the color that matches the Sport fender flares?

Here are some before & after pics. No flex pics yet, just a cheesy shot on a small ramp. Maybe I'll have time next weekend for some real photos.

The dark gray hammered finish Rustoleum paint matches the Sport flares pretty well. At least, that's what I used on my skinks.

I tried to find a picture of the sun shining on that side.

It's not on the sunny side, but it is a decent close up of the color comparison on Pete's jeep.
