Just out of curiosity...why not wait for the 2007 Wrangler instead of getting an 05 or 06 or whatever Rubi you got? The new ones have way more sick features...just wonderin, and dont worry bout the KJ, I almost sold mine for a Yellow TJ Rubi but decided against it

Well, a lot went into my choice for a 2006. First, it has the old reliable 4.0 inline 6. The new motor will be a 3.8. I'm sure it will be based on the Liberty engine so it won't be a bad motor. I'm just scared about getting the first year of a vehicle again. I really got burnt on my 2005 CRD. I really liked the 6 speed mounted to the 4.0. The 2006 will be the only year that was offered. . I'm very familiar with the TJs and there workings. Four Wheeler also had the 2006 Unlimited Rubicon picked as one of the best 4x4's ever. So I figured I would get it while I could. I really like the new wrangler 4 door but it is still untested. I will possibly turn around in 5 years and buy the new wrangler design after its test for 5 years. I don't doubt it will be great, I'm just scared to go with anything new for awhile. One other thing is that I only have one kid so a four door is not that big a deal.

Wes

I went for an '06, can't get into the '07s. Now I need to find a home for the 2000.

RedJeepCRD, just wanted to say you have a sweet looking TJ. I just looked at 4 unlimited Rubicon's today, and now I am regreting it because the TJ fever is coming back fast. Oh I looked at your site and wanted to tell you your Provent install was professional to say the least. I love my CRD, but there are so many little(?) things DCX has screwed up on such a reliable and gutty little engine, not sure how long I am going to keep it. I had a black unlimited TJ dealer traded and ready to buy when I at the last minute went for the KJ instead. Not sure about the Rubi and the 4:11 gears though, probably won't get any big numbers on mileage,,, but oh well!!!
