I'm looking into buying a used jeep liberty. I went to test drive one of the jeeps i was looking at and when i went to look for the factory sticker with the build date i couldn't find it, i looked on the sides of all the doors and under the hood but nothing.

Am i missing something or is it in a special spot?

Mine is on the drivers door jamb. Maybe that KJ got repainted at some point?

Carfax seems pretty clean, but a repair would cause them to take it off?

If you can get the last 8 digits of the VIN# you can visit jeep.com and e-mail their customer service and ask for a build date and build sheet to see what exactly the particular KJ your lookingat came with straight from the factory.

If you can't find it on the door jam then it probably did get repainted which makes you wonder why it got repainted?? Possible accident maybe? Ask the dealer for a Carfax report. Most will print one up for free.
