Utah Trail Run - August 12th - American Fork Canyon

I plan to go. If we met at about 10 at the reservoir, we'd probably be at the top of the mountain (on whatever trail we decide to do first) at lunch time.

Well, unless my wife reminds me about any other plans that I've forgotten about, I'm driving up AF Canyon this weekend, with or without y'all!

I need to change my oil and rear diff fluid (I did a lousy job of sealing up the diff cover last time, so I have a tiny leak) before I go...I'll do it either Friday night or early Saturday morning. I plan to be at Tibble Fork at 10.

No worries--hopefully I can find the really cool easy trail I went on last year. Might be Mary Ellen Gulch, I don't know. Then maybe after lunch I'll run up to Forest Lake by myself, or maybe I'll go home and catch up on honey-do's.

Sorry to be a hindrance. I was supposed to be somewhat better than stock by this point, but I guess you know all about that. I'm kind of at a loss for what to do at this point but I guess this really isn't the time or place for this...

I'll just plan on meeting you up at the res at about 10:00 then.

ARGH!!! I'm such an idiot!

I just remembered that I've got a family reunion up at Bear Lake this weekend--we're actually supposed to leave tomorrow afternoon, but, since I forgot about it, I'm committed to be at my office until past midnight. So we'll probably be leaving early Saturday morning.

Sorry about that--I really need to get a planner or something. :oops:

I think I really am free on the 12th, though.

Well then, I haven't been able to find anybody else to go. I don't want to go alone since I don't have any self-recovery equipment. If no one else responds to this thread by later tonight, don't expect me to be there.

As for the 12th, I will be in San Diego, so a trip up AF Canyon is not very probable for me. I'll leave this thread active and I'll go ahead and edit the title tomorrow if this run doesn't happen.

Hope you all have fun on the 12th...and hey, now you won't have me to hold you back from the fun trails that my stock KJ couldn't have handled anyways.

Hey, this weekend is a AF clean up day, check out utahoffroad.com might be a good time to go up and meet some people and get familar with the trail?

Like I said, I can't go sat... but maybe fri night.

Hey - not a big deal. This is vacation season and unfortunatley my vacation didn't line up with the majority of the group. I am busy for the next three weekends with prior commitments and vacation so I won't be able to go on any runs until the 19th at the earliest.
