Anybody know what size wrench the ball joint needs?

No, but big enough that neither my local discount tool store or Sears had one. I just bought a large adjustable wrench that at it's largest opening just barely fits.

23mm vs. the stock one using a 21mm.

I'm talking about the ball joint itself, not the bolt that attaches it to the knuckle.

I used a good old fashioned pipewrench.

Al told me there is a apecial socket that is used for them. A Pipe or adjustable 3 1/2" or 4"cresent wrench works fine.

If it loosens and spins or you need to replace the joint, just do that.
