Only three left available on this first batch. I did finally get Ted's junk in the shop to get this last production model rear end tacked together. You will see a few minor changes. The center section for the spare tire you will see is square now instead of having the little angles to it. It looked a little better with the angles, but the tire carrier was not working with the angles at all. The side plates have been squared up at the bottom, instead of angling down toward the wheel well. Also, due to the change in the tire carrier hinge setup, that flat plate that was under the taillight is now gone and the side is angled back toward the light, so it looks a lot better and will not require a cap to fill in the big gap. I will finish welding and grinding the bumper, and finish up the tire carrier for very soon, so be ready for the final production model pictures in the next few days.

One thing to add as well... The hand tools below the Jeep are all you need to install the bumper

Only other thing you will need to do is ut and fold, or cut off a section of the pinch seem where the mounts are. Very easy install!

Another thing, if you have a factory fuel tank skid, put a ratchet strap around it to keep it from bowing out and getting in the way of the holes, but all this will be in the instructions I am sure...

What about clearing a skid row skid, the mopar skid doesnt mount in the hitch holes? And how come nobody answers if you can hi-jack from this bumper or not?

The stock skid mounts to the hitch holes. All three skids work with my bumper; stock, Kilby, and Skid Row. I haven't answered the highlift mount question yet because I don't have a firm answer on that yet. Once I finish this last prototype, I will try the highlift on the bumper, and figure out where I need to put the highlift slots. Just one of those last minute details.

You could probably make an attachment to the Hi Lift and then use those D-ring/shackle holes.

This would work on the bumper better than cutting holes/slots in it.

What will be done with the rear wheel liner that hangs down? Will it be left there like a mud flap, or will it be cut? Is it secure hanging like that or will it be making all kinds of noise?

Also, are there any ideas for the bottom of the flares or will they just need to be cut and left how they look in the pics?

It will be your choice what you do about the bottom of the wheel well liner. I kept it because it does work a little bit like a flap, at least it keeps most of the gunk out of the bumper itself.

The flares will need to be cut, how you do it is up to you.

Come on Ted...there has got to be a way to mount some Kewl looking shorty mudflaps...

Any space made for the License Plate and Light?

So it is mandatory to have mudflaps...in California? The KJ and most vehicles don't have mudflaps in the first place. Is there a specific requirement staing how mudflaps are required?

Wonder if Colorado has something like that?

NOt sure of the statute but cops have been issuing fix-it tickets to lifted vehicles for lack of mud flaps for years here in the high desert. And we don't even get mud around here!

In The PA Vehicle code...

Rear wheel shields. A vehicle specified under this subchapter, except a truck-tractor while towing a trailer, shall be constructed or equipped to bar water or other road surface substances thrown from the rear wheels of the vehicle or combination at tangents exceeding 22.5°, measured from the road surface, from passing in a straight line to the rear of the vehicle or combination. See 75 Pa.C.S. § 4533 (relating to rear wheel shields).

that means at a 22.5* angle from the road to the bumper is more than 22.5* you need mud flaps to bring the angle down to that.

Well, things are running a little slower than I planned, but I am making sure everything is just right on this first batch. That would be a lot of steel to screw up. The biggest thing is getting a tire carrier built for this last production model prototype to make sure that even if the bumper is right, that a carrier will work out as planned.

I am placing the order with my manufacturer this coming week. They said they are running about 3-4 weeks right now, which is pretty good. Once I get the bumpers, I will start building immediately and getting them to those who preordered in the order in which they were received. I appreciate the patience of those who have preordered. As a one man show, I am working as fast and furious as I can to keep up with all my other product orders while developing these new KJ products.

It is past the August first preorder deadline, so preorder pricing is gone. I limited my first batch to only so many bumpers, so I don't kill myself trying to get them all built as fast as possible for the preorder guys, but I did make two more spots available for anyone who still wants to purchase at the preorder price. So, ONLY TWO BUMPERS left at the preorder price of $547. First come, first served.

OK, here is the current update for the preorder guys. I had the bumpers on hold for a little while to make sure everything was good to go on the last minute changes. Everything looks good now, so the tentative date that I have from my manufacturer is 9/15. Once I get the bumpers, I will be a welding and grinding fool. I hope to have all the preorder bumpers out for delivery by the end of September. I apologize for the delay, but I wanted to be sure they were correct. I have test fit the stock hitch to the bumper, and they fit beautifully. You mount the bumper up first (after gas tank skid if you have one) and you can add or remove the hitch anytime after that. The bumper can be unbolted, and will stay in position without falling, so you can put the hitch up or take it off, then put the mounting bolts back in. Simple 5 minute one man job. So you can put your factory hitch back on when you need to tow something really big (or for the assurance of having a Class III hitch), and then take it right back off when done so it doesn't look silly having two hitchs. Allowing for the stock hitch also keeps the hitch ball lower for towing.

Again, thanks for everyone's patience. I know you all are wanting your bumpers but I'm sure you would rather they be right than rushed.
