I wasn't around when the Fumoto was being put together but, I have got mine and I just changed my oil so it will sit on the shelf until the next time.

a great idea about the other site. But sometimes venders are frowned upon.

I will post on Jeep Horizons about it with a link.

I hope to put mine own this weekend. Hope I don't have to drop the skid plate to install.

I got mine a couple of weeks back and installed last weekend. I've got the mopar factory skids and had no problem, other than having to jack up the liberty to squeeze myself under it. Now with the Fumoto I should be able to just reach under and get to the valve and filter without having to jack it up. I ordered it off the web from the site referenced earlier in the thread, no problems. While I 'was' looking forward to an armpit oiling, alas no, only made it up to my elbow.

So I installed my Fumoto valve last wkend. Install was a breeze and I look forward to many spill-free changes in the future. However, for those of you w/ the skid plate, how do you change the oil filter? After I crack the filter the oil draining out hits the skid plate and goes everywhere! What am I doing wrong? Feel kind of silly having this high-speed drain plug only to make just as large of a mess w/ the oil filter.

Take a sharp pointed object and punch a hole and in the bottom/rear of filter and let it drain is only thing other then a plastic bag held up to catch that didn't work to good the first oil change I tried. Not sure how well this hole punch works for sure but someone here said they tried it with sucess.

At the rate these are going this will be the only time we have them available. So if you want a Fumoto for your CRD you better get it now because once they are gone thats it.

Has anyone ever tried the Shop Vac method to change the oil? You put a rag over the oil add hole at the top and then push the hose end in the hole or hold tight...then turn on the Shop Vac. Now you can remove the oil drain plug and the oil will not come out or will come out slowly. When you have everything in place, you turn off the Vac and the oil flows as normal.

I know it sounds crazy but I used to do that with a race car of mine...It might work with the CRD but not sure: so don't blame me when your neighbor comes over and asks if that is the way you always change you oil?

I did it to take the Oil Filter off the race car but not remove the Amsoil.

Think I will stick with my Fumoto oil drain valve & adapter.

This was meant for the people who just ordered the Fumo and don't want to wait for the next oil change to put in the new hardware...or make it easier to change the oil when they are installing the Fumo  My Fumo is on the way...sometimes you need to chill a little  Some other KJers might not want to spend the $$$ on a Fumo.

DW that was said in jest dude, because of the comment about people asking what you were doing. Darn I just noticed I didn't get my smilie in the post, maybe that would have helped you realize the humor. DW you have to remember I have a good sense of humor and sometimes I guess some folks misunderstand my intent or I don't read it back to myself and realize maybe everyone else would not see the humor. Did I say what I think I did?? I hope so dude.

I still love you DW even if you are so ugly you would have to sneak upon a glass of water to get a drink. :P  :P

Just make use of the KJ's approach angle and the CRDs torque and find a suitably steep incline to park the Jeep on for the oil change. The oil filter will be top-up and will not leak when removed...
