For the third time in 5800 miles I have had my KJ back from the dealer after repairing an oil leak, the same oil leak I add, it turns out to have been the rear crankshaft oilseal and apparantley there is a plate that hold it in place and on my KJ it had a metal burr that was ripping through the seal, now, it might be me but why did the Mechanic's seeing eye dog not notice this and bark a warning to the owner working on my unfortunate Jeep??? on the first two occasions?????
I am baffled.

Well I will report back if this happens again chaps! last time took 300 miles so it won;t be long now,,,,,

I think it might, I have another wet oil patch showing this morning. I did don my boilersuit and crawl under and can see a damp area on the join of tranny and block however I am hoping it is just residue. If not I will be at my wits end with the KJ

Yip, Same thing is going through my mind, but as its bought and almost paid for and still has 26 months of warranty to run,,,,,,,
I checked again this morning and the patch is still the same no more oil so far, i'll give it a month before getting excited about it.
its a pity as it is still a very pretty wee thing :?
