So far I received two of ur defective boost gauges!!!!!!! :x :x I'm just joking but I actually might have :D I tested both my EGT and Boost gauges right away before I installed them. EGT was good to go but the Boost was a different story, flickering was the cause. Dons Sport Vehicle has been very helpful and received hardly any reisistance on them sending me out another gauge that day which arrived the next. The new boost gauge flickers as well. It can't be a bad ground because I am testing it right at the battery. All the connections went smooth for the EGT except finding the ORANGE/BLACK wire that dimmed the dash lamps. I will never forget that combination. The end result was awesome!!! The EGT illuminates great and dims when it's supposed to. I'm getting the same readings as you are getting for the EGT. I went with the clamp-on method to the exhaust which was fairly easy. I will have to call Dons tomorrow and break the bad news.

They should just send you a dozen and not charge you, that is the trouble you have to pay, they charge you, you send
in back and wait for the return. You should mention that I had to do it 3 times and they are getting a bad batch and need
to raise some hell with the company, something is wrong in factory, but I have a good one now.

I recently installed my two gauges, boost and egt. It just so happens, not surprised with my luck, MIL light came on which punched out P0410. Yea that's right, EGR!!!! I am a little worried about how the dealer will take my 2 gauge install. What do you think??

I have put gauges in every car I have had and never had a dealer question it, it goes towards being safe
and maintainence minded in my opinion.

This is really annoying! I am on my fourth boost gauge and still the original pyro. Booth of the gauges are lit at full brightness. Auto Meter does not recommend that the gauges be fully lit otherwise it will shorten the life span. As I set the dimmer down one notch from full brightness, my pryo meter dims perfectly but then my boost gauge flickers. I called the Auto Meter tech. support and they suggested that I purchase a seperate dimmer because some vehicles use some sort of signaling with their dimmers and that interferes with LED(s) on the meters. Is anybody having problems dimming their meters from the OEM dimmer? I'm just fed up and don't get me wrong the gauges look kick stupid when they're fully lit but am worried about their life span. Those of you that have hooked up their own meters, what color wire did you tap into the OEM dimmer? Thanks

Ripster (and others) -

I finally got my EGT working (bad probe) and now I see that I am only getting 625F at light highway and no higher than 725F under acceleration. I haven't taken it up a long/tall hill (but will later this week for business). Why so low?

I thought at first maybe my probe location was farther from the turbo but my idle brings it to just under 400F, same as you all I believe. I am still considering that the meter itself is out of cal as well as the dead probe the ebay guy sold me. For the record, AutoMeter sent me a free "No Questions" replacement.

Any ideas? Thanks.
