So, is anyone gonna be around during Labor Day? Thought I'd go out and do some wheelin'. Post up if you're interested.

I could possibly be interested in a pre-run for the Walnut canyon run later in the month. I've been out of town lately including this weekend so I'll have to see how it goes. I'll stay tuned.

Your going to be in Tuc and you were not even going to notify me :).....

I prolly will be out for a run this weekend. After spending the fuel to get up to Phx and back last sun to pickup my new hardtop I dont have any fuel moneys left :)..... Running a rubi with no top to Phx only got me 6 miles to the gallon.

Went backup to 13mpg once I got the hardtop on.

Later,
Dan

Wow what a difference having a top on makes. Sure it has nothing to do with DHRFD (Driver Heavy Right Foot Disease)? LOL Why the hardtop? Softtop get messed up or just a good deal?
later,
mike

OK, back to the subject at hand:

So that would be a pre- pre-run? Sounds doable, or if some of the other PHX area people are heading out to Table Mesa I may go that-a-way. Heck, its a holiday weekend and I don't have to worry about doing anything important 8)

I may be down for Table Mesa or something like that. I'm gonna guess that wherever we go it will not be 2WD friendly though. :D

OK, I'm in for some Labor Day wheeling. Table Mesa sounds like fun, but I'm open. We could try one of the less difficult but scenic routes to include the 2x crowd. I'm thinking something like the Old Senator Highway or maybe the Apache Trail. Just a thought . . .

Sorry I haven't gotten back into this thread for a few days. So when do we want to do this? Does anybody have any day in particular in mind? Keep in mind that pretty much any day this weekend is probably going to be heavier traffic in the areas. I remember last year I was going up to Flagstaff for one holiday (4th of July I think) and there was an accident on 17 northbound - took me an hour to get from the 101 on-ramp to Happy Valley rd

Travis, if you read this are you still planning on going out to table mesa rd? If not is anyone interested in going out to Walnut Canyon if Vern can make it? I'm pretty flexible as long as I get some dirt under the wheels...

Kevin, Yes i am still going out to TM on sunday 9-3. You are welcome to come along. There is all kinds of stuff out there to have fun on. I know at this point we are planning on running Lower Raw Deal and Lower Terminator with a possibility of Judgement Day. I am susposed to have a person rididng shot gun with me but if they cancel you can ride with me on those trails and then maybe we will do some exploring afterwards to see what we can find. Let me know if that sounds good. Cya

Hey Travis, when are you going out to TM? I may take you up on the offer, then I can see first-hand what it's like riding with a madman :P

Sounds good Kevin. I'm meeting another Jeep at the mccdonalds just east of I-17 and the carefree highway. at 7 am on Sunday 9-3 I invited Dan too, but he never answered so he probably will not be there.

The three Table Mesa trails mentioned are probably a little more bite than I'd like to chew this weekend. Anyone interested in a trail that will raise the chances of me driving my Liberty to work on Tuesday morning by about a point? Anyone . . .

   Dangit!!! Found out this afternoon that I will be working both days this weekend. Gawd I hate being indespensable  And I'll be working every Saturday thru the end of September. Anyway Travis, have fun out on TM Sunday. Tom, if you want to go out to the Rolls or somewhere Monday that would be OK with me. If Butcher Jones opens up maybe we can run the Great Western Trail up to Hwy. 87 north of Four Peaks rd, or I may see if I can get by the Mesa Ranger station and get a permit to go out to Bulldog Canyon (its a free permit, you just have to go get it and the combo for the locks on the gates to the area). Stay tuned...

I won't be able to make it this weekend either but I will definitely be doing a Walnut canyon pre-run the following weekend. I'll post more details later.

OK, I went down today and got a permit for Bulldog Canyon (between Saguaro Lake and Apache Junction). Its good until the end of October. I may try this Monday morning if I can drag my behind out of bed after working 'til 11pm Sunday night. Time will tell...
