Can't stay logged on.

HELP!

Everytime I view a topic, or do anything, it goes back to the "Log IN" status in the upper left. In this mode, I cannot post, PM, or anything. When I try to sign in, I usually get sent to the sign in screen multiple times. Not the "use have used an incorrect username or password" screen...the plain old log-in screen. Here is the kicker: Even though it tells me I have to log in, it still shows me in the list of current members in the forum at the bottom of the index page! Then I cannot sign out! This began soon after the new front page log-on option became active, but it doesn't matter which log-on method I use. I had a similar problem when this board was new, but clicking "remember me.." solved that.

This does not happen in any of the other 4 forums I frequent, including one that uses the exact same format.

Make sure you are allowing cookies. If you have your browser set up to not allow cookies, the BB will not know who you are from page to page.

Clint.. I am using DJ Glass. Any help would be appreciated.

My cookie settings seems to be the same as I remember it, and I haven't (intentionally) changed it. It is working for every other website I try. It takes me 7 or 8 tries to post, as when I submit it goes to log in instead of posting it. Thank goodness for the Copy function.

Thanks again...going to make some peanut butter cookies because a weisenheimer above put the thought into my head.... :wink:

i'm sort of having the same problem. after i checked out the new main site with the flash, everytime i want to read the forum i have to log in, even if i check the box to log me in. i'm using the grey eye background.

OK I have been playing around with this. Kind of goes back to when we were saying that not all the "Styles" work just like they should. so try this and see if it cures it for you.

go to the log in screen...BUT do not put in a user name or password...Just hit the log in button.

That will take you to a screen that says try again...click on that.

then you will see a different log in screen.
add you user name
add you password
AND THEN

click the box that says keep you logged in everytime. Seems that a few of the "Styles" will log you out after every post if you do not follow these steps. Let me know if that cures it. Be sure to go step by step on this or irt will not work. Thanks. Later...Clint

Clint: I tried it, same deal as before, though. I am going to try to change styles and see if it helps.

If it helps, I, too, visited the new website to check it out and that is when the trouble began.

Well, I tired both things, including printing out the above steps and following them methodically. No luck.

I changed my style from dj glass and tried two others. No luck.

I also tried logging on by using the log in button on the upper left, which takes you right to the screen with the "keep me logged on" button. No luck.

It is still taking me to or three attempts to log on and it logs me off every time i view something. It still shows me in the list of logged on users at the bottom though. Uuuuurrgh I have to click and sabe every post as it takes me multiple times signing back on and submitting it before it will accept the submission instead of sending me back to the log on screen.

I admit that I am computer funtionally illiterate, so I had my wife check our system. None of our settings have changed since January, before I found this board.

Okay, it is apparently an issue with my computer. I am able to log on/post from the work computer (slower than dirt). Still, no other site does this to me. There were no changes to the computer prior to the problem. I have reset the computer to a date prior to the problem, and no change. I am a computer idiot, but can someone help me out?
