I filed a complaint with the Missouri Attorney General asking that they force Jeep to extend the warranty on the EGR system and resolve EGR issues. I noted in the complaint they could find many discussions on this topic at the LOST web site and pasted a link for them. If you agree with this course of action you may want to do the same thing in your state.

Isn't the EGR valve considered an emission control device which is covered under a seperate warrenty?

Yes, but only for 24000 miles. Funny that they could not put the Particlate Matter modification of the emmisions on the CRD for 2007 because it requires service at 50,000 miles and the EPA requires service free for 100,000 miles.

Good for you in filing the complaint. Keep us posted on what happens. This is going to be another one of those nagging and fairly expensive items.

Have they changed it? I thought it was 8 years or 80k miles for emissions stuff.

Only for certain things. Not the EGR valve(s). Cat and Computer come to mind.

EGR is 3/36, 8/80 covers the computer and catalytic converter.

Did anything come of your complaint with the AG's office?

Isn't it crazy how dirty the MAF sensor gets? What's in that diesel fuel?
Lady, I think you just made a hell of a mistake putting diesel in your Jeep....
