Asked the dealer and they said parts not available untill October.

Guys,
Can anyone give me an email contact for someone in Daimler Chrysler USA so I can ask what's the deal for us in Oz.
The DC people here are pleading ignorance of any recall or forthcoming recall.
Considering this is a safety issue I would have thought that DC would have notified all the overseas divisions as well! Maybe not!?

I keep putting my '04 Lib VIN in every week since the recall annoucement and it keeps getting no hits. Anyone have any idea when Chrysler going to update their website database?

Hello everyone,
I am a new member and I love the sight. I purchased my new lib on June 23, 2006. The manufacture date was May 06. When I type my vin # intp the recall page on the Chrysler recall sight it says there are no recalls for my vehicle (Manufactured after March.) My ball joints have the blue ring and a green dot above that. But what scares me is that they are already getting greasy over the blue line on the boot. Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance

You probably are not part of the recall, but don't reply on me for that or the Jeep site. I don't think anyone whom has entered their VIN has yet had this recall returned as they are not scheduled to start doing them until September when they have the parts.

Mine were replaced under warranty in June. Talked to the dealer this week, told me they will have to replace them again when the recall notices are sent as they are using a different joint. At last check, LBJ recall was not listed for my VIN on their website.

Before & after pics. I couldn't tell you if there's a difference between the 2 parts, but the front end feels a bit tighter.

Interesting...at least we should be able to tell if we get the new version based on the different colored band (yellow vs. blue) and the different colored boot (yellow vs. grey)

So why the part shortage? Or maybe that is just an excuse?

who knows? but it has been widely reported, starting in the toledo blade, that the factory made the switch to the new suppliers ball joints in march/april on the assembly line.

Is it possible that when I had mine done a couple months ago they replaced mine with the new style (they look like the ones in the pic of the "new" ones) and that's why mine doesn't show up on the recall notice?

Uh, maybe because they have to replace about 800,000 pairs of ball joints? :)

Mine was listed, so I stopped by the dealer today to schedule an appointment and they did it while I waited. Now that's good service.
