Hey guys..new member here. I bought a 2002 Libby last month, had a 2.5" Daystar lift put on Friday from 4wheelparts. Yesterday I had some 265/75R16 Goodyear AT tires put on and only had a small amount of rub when at full lock. I drove it around and on a regular basis..you never fully lock out the steering anyways. It looks like a beast going down the road and it was actually taller than a suburban I was stopped next to at the red light. I felt like a kid in a candy store...the tires and the lift make all the difference in the world. Hopefully I will have a pic up in a few days.

I'll try and have some on here tomorrow. Honestly, I didn't think they would work. My father-in-law works for a Chrysler/Jeep dealership as the shop foreman and he said he asked the tire guy there if they would fit and he told him it would be close but there shouldn't be a problem. I had nothing to lose..the tires are new and they were free. My inlaws just bought a Dodge 4x4 p/u that had the 265/75's on them but decided to get mud tires and gave us the ones that were on it. It was worth a try...it payed off.

This has been done by quite a few people, but most have had to make some modifications to the wheel well. Did you pound down the pinch weld or anything? If not, I'd say you'll need to if you take it off road at all.

Watch the inside of the tire when at full drop. The tire will rub on the upper a-arm and it will cut the tire.

You must have gotten lucky and picked up an early 02, pre-lowered. Wouldn't have been so easy on a lowered KJ.

Yeah..it is an early 02..bought it with only 40,000 miles on it. I will watch it to see how bad it rubs or if it comes in contact with metal. This morning I was looking at it parked next to our 2004 Ford F150, which has 235's on it and the Libby is so much taller..it's amazing the difference that it has undergone in a week with the lift and the new tires.

Thanks John. The avatar now shows one of the pics so I guess that's good enough. I didn't know it would post it on all of my previous posts.

Does anyone know if I my back window will still open with a 265/75 mounted as a spare?

It may or may not hit, everyone seems to be different.

You may want to try reducing the size of your avatar image, BTW.

It will open just fine..
The hard part is getting it to close, tight..
You need to get the tire and the window positioned "just right" and
then close them both together..

You will most likely have to space it out about 1/4"-1/2" if you want it to close easier. I had to put 2 lugnut washers under mine to clear 245/75's

I used 3 washers on the top lug. It opens and closes just fine now.

I only rub in reverse with 265/75 TXR's
