Hi everyone and ??? about daystar lift

Hi everybody! I'm new to this forum, used to be on jeepforum but now my baby is gone and a new member is comming in the family. Just sold my 2004 Rubicon to buy a 2004 Renegade, so i'll have to watch my rocker panels .

My question is about tires. I have my rubicon winter tires (not big lugs aggresives tires) in 245-75-16 size and would like just for this winter be able to fit them but I'm on a thight budget so I was thinkin of this Daystar kit: KJ09123. It consist of a 2in rear spacer and a 1.5 only front coil spacer (I think)that goes under the spring.

Will I be able to fit tires without rubbing and not botom out the rear shocks and what about the front stock struts ???
I would appreciate it if a person who have this kit could tell me more about this kit.

The standard tire chart says it should fit - but there's a lot of variation in KJ front springs some are a bit lower than others - most people go with the 2 1/2 inch lift - the KJ09115/6 kits - rub points tend to be the weld at the back of the front wheelwell, or the corner of the liner in front (really loud when you back up), and the sway bar at full lock. The liner can be trimmed easily. the pinch weld would have to be hammered over, (it may not need either) - sway bar clearance generally needs an extra 1/2" or wheel offset - commonly Rubicon Moab rims.

You will have rubbing with those tires and a 1.5in lift. I have 3.0in tires with a 1.5in lift and have rubbing. Those are a 30.6in tire, so they would rub alittle more. You would need to beat the pinch weld over and cut on the fog light door area and you would be fine. :wink:

This is my truck with a Daystar lift and GDYR mtr 265/75/16. They rubbed at first but you must trim some spots.

thanks for the replys. look like this little kit isnt to much popular, maybe because it's just not enough lift.

All lifts will require some cutting of plastic and bending the pinch weld. It is a good lift and have had no problems with the suspension on or off road.

Looks very nice in the picture. Which Daystar kit is this? Can you provide the model number from the Daystar web site? How many miles have you driven you KJ with this lift kit? Did you have to replace your front struts? (I've heard that spacer lifts tend to destroy the OEM struts.)
