Yeah I'm not big on the relocation of things either........my vehicle is leased....hahaha....buuuuut, that being said.....any progress on this front bumper??

I'm itching to see anything that may be coming out of it......it all looks like a great deal!

I definitely don’t like the idea of having to relocate anything. But we’ll see what it looks like, maybe if enough people voice their opinion about this their can be changes made. 8)

If you put ANY aftermarket bumper on you WILL have to relocate the washer bottle. The bottle is inside the bumper cover. There is no way around it.

Probably just as easy to get an aftermarket universal tank & pump assembly from an autoparts store and plug it in under the hood.

There is a write up on this somewhere, probably in the Tech section or on JeepKJ.com. It tells you what washer bottle to get and great pictures too...I'm just too lazy to look it up on with this darn dial-up...

I am going to toss in a curve here..

Will the air bag function be any less or more sensitive to impact than OEM?

The air bag sensor is located on the radiator support. It is an inertia switch and a custom bumper should have Very little to No effect on it.

My thinking is that since the OEM's design frontal areas with a crumple effect to absorb shock to the occupants that a more solid rigid bumper taking a hit would transfer more shock to the inertia switch.

An example would be if the bag deploys on a 15 mph impact with an OEM bumper it might deploy at 10 with a more stout bumper. Thats just me thinking out loud cuz I have not studied deployment criteria or the design of the inertia switch.

here are a few photos of the bumper sub frame...

As you can see, this design fits snug against the unibody and greatly increases the approach angle.

The model shown is a non-winch version but will include mounting points for clevis rings.
A 2" reciever will be available as an option.

The test KJ is a '05 rene, so for those who are concerned, need not be.

...yes, i know i need to wash her belly!
