my $.02 on the length...

A few folks are complaining about noises. I unscrewed mine quite a bit and get no noise at all. I raised teh sway bar so that the ends are about 1/2" above the top of the clevis. About 2" unscrewed I'd say. Not a peep.

If you're getting noise, take 5 minutes and make them longer, then test again.

Mine came in about 3/8" longer than the stock links so I just put them in as is. No noise, no change in ride. Will take it off road as soon as I get over this dagummed cold.

The noise I was experiencing went down as I made mine shorter.

Has anyone used these offroad yet? I suspect (and hope I'm wrong) that the disconnected sway bar will be banging in to all kinds of stuff. If guys are getting strange noises with them connected then I'm really wondering how well they will work when disconnected.?.? Somebody please update when these have been trail tested. Thanks!

I have taken mine out behind the house (boonies) after putting them on and ran them through the mud. First I left them connected, then I unhooked them and played around. They make some noise either way--just different noises. When connected, they pop like others have noted. I ignore this and have put 800 highway miles at high speeds with no problems. I will play with it more this week to see if I can get those pops out. When discoed, they don't make noise until you slam into stuff-- then they sometimes make a loud bang. I was bottoming out and stuffing the tire (on one side) when the loud bangs were occuring, so no suprise there (no lift yet), So it is only bangs on the severe stuff. It Handles much better off road though--- the tires in front really stuff on one side while the other side just cruises along :D . Kinda like a lazy boy. Handles scary on the road-- :( , reminds me of the old 56 we used to have . You will notice if you forget to hook em back up!

I was really wanting a suspension lift for my CRD, but with the disconnects in the front, and the swaybar removed in the back, I could get by with the Frankenlift CRD II.

Dave02KJ and I were both out at Paragon this weekend running these.

The ride felt better to me with the disconnected and they did make some noise when they would contact the A-Arms.

BUT...

Both of our cables broke. That little one that holds the sway bar up when disconnected. BOth of ours broke on the trail. I don't think any real damage occured, but they are noisy as hell when they slap the a-arm all day.

How much do the tires rub when stuffed(245/75/16 or 255/70/16)? My tires rub alittle just turning the wheel, does that mean its going to rub ALOT when I have a tire stuffed and turned? Or does the wheel follow the arch of the fender well and not rub to bad? I actaully popped one of the fog light doors out the other day. It didnt break it off, just pushed it back into the fender.

Sounds like we need different cables...is this something that could be taken care of with a trip to Home Depot? I don't have mine yet, so I'm just guessing...

I went to Lowes today. I got 18" 3/32 steel cable, 2 1/8" cable rope ties and a 1" stainless steel hoop. total was $1.43 and you could do it without the $0.40 hoop. The hoop goes over the sway bar pin; if it sucks I'll take it off. The cable loop fits nicely into that brass peice that came with the discos.

My lanyard broke today as well. Well, it didn't break but pulled loose from the crimp. Seems as if the crimp was done without the poly coasting stripped away.

Thanks for that. I was afraid of the lanyard breaking as soon as I saw it. Your solution looks like a good one, regardless of what JKS comes back with.

I went wheelin yesterday and noticed that one of my pins was bent.

I have not yet been able to remove the pin, and I broke off the loop while tryin.

While wheelin with it though (in a partially disconnected state, but I don't think anything was in the way of normal movement) it did make clunking noise as if the sway bar were not completely out of the way.

What do you mean a 'partially disconnected state'?

I left the passenger arm in a position where it didn't hit anything.
