Hey Gang,

Once again AT will be sponsoring an overland trip into Saline Valley and the Inyo Mountains in Death Valley NM. It'll be a 3 day trip, Sat-Sun-Mon. Sat nite dinner will be a BBQ hosted by yours truly. Extra fuel is a requirement for this 230+ mile trip and you'll need to be prepared for both hot & cold weather. Those of you who have done this route before know just how amazing a landscape this is (bring your camera). You'll be camping one night at a hot spring on the desert valley floor and the next night high in the mountains huddled around a fire. The route can be travelled in a stock 4x4 KJ but AT or mud tires are a must.

To minimize the impact on this area, we would like to keep this trip down to 10 vehicles. If you want to go and experience one of the most beautiful places on earth, drop me a line at elcoyote@earthlink.net. I'll add you to the list and send you detailed trip information.

Hope to see ya there!

Mark was dedicated enough to make the 45-minute hike in the dark to take that moving-cloud pic :) Not to mention the wonderful campfire pics where he had to climb rocks in the dark ... he risked it all for these shots. We almost didn't get Little Burchie.

BTW, is Burchie Mk II coming along?

The battery slayer will make an appearance again.
(Only this time I don't plan on slaying any more batteries)

no pugs this time around--i already called grandma and booked babysitting time. i'd bring my girl if it was just her and me but since scott'll be coming she wouldn't as secure a place to sit.

You didn't put yourself on that list Burch!
I am still on the fence, it is a money thing. I Really need to focus all my money toward my SFA or it won't get done. Taking Any trips just keep hitting my wallet so it isn't helping. It really does suck as I want to go but Need to finish my Jeep. I really feel like I'm missing out too. Ugh. Oh well.

John is all really to go, but mama doesn't think it's a good idea to have a 3 month old out cruising DV. I asked if I could just go, and I got the "look". So I backed down. I'm trying to save my brownie points for Moab. By then, the Burchie Bird should be flying again.

Oh man, oh man. I go off for a couple weeks to do something else and don't read the KJ forum, and a great trip shows up. Missed last year's cuz of a calendar conflict... and have another this year. I will try to move the responsibilty away.

Are you doing Lipincott? I've been to the Racetrack, Eureka, Saline, and hiked to Beveridge in the Inyos. It all is amazing out there. What's the daily route? Maybe I can catch 2 of 3 days.

We go past Teakettle, stop at the Racetrack, the go through Lipincott to the hotsprings where we camp for the night. The next morning, the group heads for the mountains. I usually head home on Sunday after visiting the salt mine and sand dunes (and soaking in the hot springs).

It's a great, relaxing ride.

JJ, Just do it!
It's a great opportunity for you to try Kujo's hot shower feature (and Mario's cooking!)

You can also do the half run (leave Sunday) and save some gas money.
