That is a great combination...next would be the DTT front and rear since you are in snow alot.

Wally, you'd take DTT front and rear vs a single ARB??? Thanks for the input!

For the price and having a 2006 with traction control...I would and probably will do DTT front and rear. I want to keep it simple...no buzzers, no bells, no leaks...hehehe. The DTTs come with a preload of about 3.5:1 from the factory, so they "hook up" better than the stock one and most others with clutches. My DTT in my old 2002 KJ acted just like a locker...I never really had to use the "brake trick". The DTT performed flawlessly. The ARB is going to be stronger than any LSD or "lunchbox locker" because it replaces the carrier. If I was going to add an ARB at all, I would put it in the front with a DTT in the rear. It might come in handy in the front in tight turn situation. Plus, it would probably strengthen up the front Aluminum Diff a bit.

Darby,

I have to politely disagree. My TrueTrac in the front did not act like a locker recently in Crozet and if it hadn't of been for my "real" locker in the rear pushing, I would have been stuck a bunch. Guess it's all apples and oranges. If you want a street truck with limited trail capabilities, go with the TrueTrac in both ends; if you want an off road performer go ARB rear and TrueTrac front if you can't afford to ARB both ends. I'm kicking myself in the pants now for not putting lockers in both ends.

Seriously? That setup would be more capable than most rigs out there. There's nothing "street" about my rig. Sure the LSD makes driving more of a challenge, but with a Frankenlift, disconnects, MTRS, and armor...ain't nuthin street about it. I'm definitely not "limited" in my trail abilities either. With my current setup I can wheel about 90% of trails out there. Lockers are just for the toughest 10%, but without a two solid axles and 35s you still can't wheel some of those trails. At the end of the day it is still a Liberty on 31s and I have to way the costs / benefits associated with this upgrade.

The TrueTrac is still a limited slip, seriously, it's not a locker. As I stated previously, I was disappointed with the behavior of the front TrueTrac and wished I had lockers front and rear. Of course this is only my opinion. I'm just trying for you not to have the same buyers remorse that I have.

All I was saying is it is still a pretty dang good setup compared to most rigs (especially Liberties) on the trails today. The majority are open so even having LSDs front and rear helps emensely. It's a mute point now though...see my thread titled "Got Traction?" :D
