My wife has an 04 Jeep Liberty 4wd. So far the mods are a K&N FIPK and a Poweraid TBS. The tires are needing to be replaced and I also want to lift it at the same time. My question is should I go with the Rusty's lift or get the Rough Country? Also I know that we can run either the 245/75 or the 265/70, which works best on the stock wheel and which works best in the rain. I am either going to get BFG A/T or get the Toyo Open Country A/T. Will the 245 or the 265 fit on the rear door in the cut out in the rear bumper? I know these are alot of questions and I appreicate the help. The vehicle is driven mostly on road, THANKS!!

Rusty's is the best bang going for your buck, and stay with the 245/75/16's, you'll have less problems with rubbing.

If were wanting to gain mpg or performance from it with that K&N, then I wouldnt go with a bigger tire. I cannot stand my jeep with the bigger tires and was actually thinking about selling them, if only it didnt look so good and do so good offroad. The rustys kit is used alot around here and seems to be a good all around kit. Everyone likes the ride better over stock.

Edit: Not to bust anyones' bubble, but the TBS does nothing for performance... :)

I beg to differ I have had several of them on many differant vehicles and the TBS always seems to give more low end. I tell you what my wife went from 16.8 mpg to 19.2 by changing over to the FIPK and the TBS. I really like it because the truck has decent power now. What seems to be the best exhaust and are headers worth it? Also are the JET chips any good or is the stock ECU pretty well tuned? Thanks again and from what I have seen there is ALOT of good info on this site.

The chips seem to be a disappointment.

Just spend some time going through the various topics, you'll find all kinds of info.

I was just saying, thats what Ive heard and Ive never seen an improvement on a dyno. Ive heard that it can give an improvement on other engines with different intakes. I didnt say the K&N didnt give more power, Id say it does. You will loose all of those power with bigger tires though. We yet to have any aftermarket headers, JBA was working on some but I believe it has feel through. The exhaust seems to all be free flowing, but a new muffler can help some. Flowmaster, borla, magnaflow, just to name a few. Ive only heard of one person to re-program their computer and it was Kyliberty. He sent it off to someone and had it done.

If you want to read about performance stuff, this is a good place:

Look at some posts by KYLiberty...he has done all the performance mods including the hood scoop. Has some great information. A tranny shift kit and B&G ecu reprogram seemed to give him the best bang...also the Magnaflow exhaust. Good Luck!
