First of all, a "Big Hats" off to Clint and Ninja Will for showing us a great time last weekend and scouting the trail out for us.
OK....
When: Saturday October 28th ( Saturday before Halloween)
We'll be arriving Friday afternoon for camping through the weekend.

The Trail: Is an easy very scenic trail with side obstacles you can play on if you choose to. It leads through a variety of terrain going past Indian ruins, down throught the El Dorado Valley, and ending on top of Black Mesa

Camping: The best camping we could find with nice ammenities is just outside of Show Low at Fool Hollow Recreation Area.http://www.pr.state.az.us/Parks/parkhtml/foolhollow.html
Campsites are available right on the lake and provide flush toilets and showers. NOTE* Their gates close at 10:00 pm. It took Mike and I about 3 hours to get to the campground from Ellsworth and the 60 pulling our camper. Anyone not wanting to camp, Show Low has several hotel options.
The trail head is app 30-45 minutes from the campground.

Food: Saturday evening, please join us for a chili dinner at the campground. Bring enough chili to feed those in your party and we will mix it to make one batch. Be it homemade or Hormel. If you could also bring one side item such as crackers, summer sausage etc, I will have spoons and bowls and the means to warm it.

Tricks & Treats: If I could get a count of who is going that would be great. I have a few tricks and treats up my sleeve.

Hope to See You There!

Hey guys,

Glad you enjoyed the time spent up here, I was more than happy to help out. I will be looking forward to joining you all on the run and look forward to meeting some of the other members. If there is anything needed for additional info prior to the run just drop me a note and I will see what I can find out for you. The evening temps have been dropping here lately just to let those that will be tent camping know, they may want to bring enough blankets or sleeping bags to keep them warm overnight.

See ya all soon.

Ninja Will

P.S. I am still new to this forum process so if there are any questions please pm so I don't miss them. Thanks.

J.J. I wish you could make it too, you find a way and I will mix you all the drinks you can handle. If you don't make this one I will anxiously await your arrival in December and we will take you out for a little Az trail ride. Take care buddy!!!

Hey guys, I will make this one. :D
I have now been sent back to AZ from Basic 3 times because of I am below weight standards so it looks like this time I have to wait at least 6 months before I can again. :?
I'll keep looking on here for details.

Sorry for just now getting back on this...Man I have really been on the run.

Will and I pre-ran the trail again and we did all the GPS points on it. I wilo try and post them but I still have all kinds of irons in the fire so don't shoot me if I don't get them posted.

The trail is very good and we kind of changed the last section. There are a couple of tough sections but they also have go arounds so everyone should be able to have a good time on this run.

Looking foward to seeing you guys and we wil have a great time out on the trail. Keep in mind we are right at 6000 ft so it gets cool at night and we even get rain up here in the North East corner of AZ. The trail will take most of the day for sure and there are some great stopping posint to check out.

Will did an outstanding job on hooking us up with a trail that everyone will enjoy. We will post pictures for the guys that can't make it but you rae going to miss a good time for sure. Later...Clint

My Jeep will be in the shop the Monday of that week (rear-ended and pushed into the Blazer in front of me). If they get it done before Friday I'll be there. If not...well...that will just suck...

Keeping my fingers crossed. X

Dave

Just camped there myself two weekends ago and man is it beautiful. This is the nicest campground in the state, no doubt! It is cold at night so dress warm. There are also plenty of reasonable motels very close by if you don't want to camp. I'll be coming friday night. Haven't decided if I'll camp out or motel yet, depends on the weather. Either way I'll be there.

Electric, water, and a few spots have sewer hookups also. There are showers and restroom facilities.

I may actually try to pull my camping gear out of storage and try to make this one. I finally found my tent and sleeping bags and the rest of my gear. Do I need to register with the site or anything?
