I would like to host a trail ride in the Flagstaff area on a Sunday in Oct. or the first of Nov. I know there is the Halloween run at the end of Oct. so when would be best for everyone? a couple weeks before Halloween or a couple weeks after? I am pretty much available any Sunday.

OK, How about Sunday Nov. 12th??? I have some places in mind and we are going over there today to start routing. Maybe start or end with a climb to a great vantage point on one of the cinder hills. I would like to keep the full route to my self as to make it more of an adventure for everyone else. I will give approximate run time and maybe a few details. I just think that for this type run it makes it a little more fun for everyone.

Details as of 9/24/06;

Where:: Flagstaff, AZ. (I will post the meeting point later)

When:: 11/12/06

Start Time:: 10:00am (it is Sunday)

Run Time:: (will post later)

Highlights:: (will post later)

Difficulty:: Easy to Moderate

Food:: Bring your lunch so we can eat on the trail.

Limit:: None, everyone welcome!

For anyone wondering, I am a former adventure guide, off road driving instructor, former owner and co-founder of OffroadAdventureOutfitters, Inc. and I am a Master Tread Trainer for Tread Lightly http://offroadadventureoutfitters.com/

That saturday 11/11/06 was the day the board had penciled in for our pre-run for fun in the sun II. Let me check in with the other folks and see if we can reshuffle.

OK, cleared my calendar and I'm in! Post up the details and I'll be there. Should we plan on camping? I'll be coming from Tucson so I'd appreciate a trail length that will still allow me to get home at a reasonable time that night.

I will have to sneak up there after my friend's wedding that Saturday. I have been needing a break from work lately.

Ok, thanks Vern. I don't have all the details set at this point other than what I have already posted but I will soon.

If anyone is interested in camping on Sat evening let me know and I will locate a good spot and I will take Sat. night off work. I am always up for camping.

Could we sneak in a Saturday Sedona run also do you think, as long as we're in the area might as well make it a weekend.

I think I remember desertkj wanting to do a run @ Broken Arrow. He might be interested. I'd love to go, but as said earlier... I will be at a wedding Saturday afternoon.

*EDIT: Just saw the other posts. I'm such a trained observer. :D *

Is the F.I.T.S. II prerun going to be moved to another weekend? I'd like to run that trail again.

Also, I'll tentatively jump on the Flagstaff run, but probably won't be camping.

We can postpone the pre-run to take advantage of this opportunity. It should be beautiful up north.
Spoke to some folks that ran Coke ovens recently and it doesn't sound like it sustained much damage from our summer rains. We'll probably pre-run early January or so.
I probably won't be camping either up north that time of year. I'll likely find a cheap room somewhere saturday night then drive back to Tucson sunday night for work monday morning. Or I might just make a long day of it up and back. Depends on the details.

For planning I would like to know if we want to do Sat. and Sun. or just Sun. If we do Sat. we will start in Sedona and do either Cliffhanger or Greasy Spoon then travel forrest roads almost all the way to Flag.(we worked on that route Mon., it was a little muddy) then camp or hotel (your choice, I'm camping) then run in the Flag. area Sun. Or we can just do Sun. in the Flag. area. I will probably camp either way.

If you are planning on comming please post up your choice one or two days. Please!

Chuck

We're probably going to drive up for the run only on Sunday. I have friend that might be meeting us up there as well.
