I am interested in lifting my new Liberty. Based on what I have read, I am leaning toward Frankenlift. I have the 17" x 7.5" Aluminum Wheels and am wondering what tire options will be available. The posts I have read make recommendations for 16" tires but not for the 17" rims that come on the 2005 limited.

Thanks,

The 17s will work fine but the only problem is tire options. You are much more limited on the 17s than even the 16s. Just pick a tire that fits you needs for your area and the places you plan on taking your KJ. A good AT tires works in a lot of places. Hope that helps. Later...Clint

He has a 2003 Liberty Fredom Edition with tthe 17" rims. Purchased bridestone Revo 265/65/17s. They seem to work well for him.

Cooper tires is your answer. I too have 17 inch wheels. They have a moderate off road tire called an ST and a Goodyear MTR equivalent called an STT in 245/70R17s (just about identical in size to 245/75R16s).

Just remember that MTR tires are Maximum Traction on ROCK. They probably wont do too much good in the east, as we have lots of mud, and the traction i hear sucks with MTR's in mud.
