LOST Rockies (KW_AV8R - our volunteer coordinator) coordinated with the national park service to go clean up a trail area today.
Well, the expectations were low considering the weather conditions but we ended up having a great turnout. We had a total of eight vehicles participate. We picked up a few new "official" members to LOST Rockies (Colorado) and made new friends.
We had snow up in the mountains the last couple of days and we weren't sure if we were going to get very many people to show up.
The snow made it almost impossible to find trash but we did find a lot where we expected it to be near Eagle Rock. The snow was much deeper in the Mt Baldy area so we gave up, had our monthly meeting and sat/stood around a camp fire and talked.
It was a great time overall even though we didn't have good ground conditions.
Check out the pictures I took. If you took some, please post. Who wants to do the write-up in the "Past Runs" section?
Here we are letting our tranny's cool off. Many of us get the Tranny hot light come on about the same location everytime.
Yesterday was the first day of Fall. Welcome to winter in the Colorado mountains....errrr....I mean Fall.
Great contrast. Yellow Aspen surrounded by white. What happened to the reds, oranges, and greens? Well, we really don't get much red or orange here.
You can see Ted's rear as we approach Eagle Rock (the rock you see in the picture).
Here is an area where we did some trash clean up.
A few of us hung around the camp fire a little longer.
The snowball fights were fun. The snow packed as you picked it up. No need to compress it to throw.
