Aussie SFA "#1 KJ" First Pics

I don't know if anyone's posted this here already, but I thought you guys might be interested in the first pics of the first Australian SFA KJ. I haven't seen it myself, but according to posts on the Aussie Jeep forum;

"It has a D44 solid axle from a F100 in the front with coil over shocks that pass right through to just under the bonnet. Big brace right across to the other side. The arms are a long 4 link with panhard rod up front using the original rack and pinion steering but through a conventional drag link. The rear is a 3 link with a upper A frame attached to a fully plated frame rails to mount both front and rear arms off. The rear is coil over as well and pass right through the rear floor and only stop 10" short of the top of the rear seat!"

Which I think looks the absolute goods. Sadly it was DOA and pretty soon ended up like this;

According to an insider;

"It had never been driven before the jamboree and was trucked up but whoever set it up forgot to put the steering stops in, so when it was driven off the truck and turned at full lock, it blew the power steering seals...
Came all the way from melbourne too, you've gotta feel for the owner"

For those that don't know, it's a bloody long way from Melbourne to where the Jamboree was being held! Hopefully it sounds like a relatively minor fix though, so it should be back on the trails pretty soon.

I would love to see up close how he did the shocks, suspension, steering.

You would think they would do some sort of road test before driving that far to go off road. Even if it was just in a parking lot .. they would have discovered that problem, right?

What kind of rock rails are those on that rig??....like the tag reading "NO1KJ"...not on this day sadly though...

Wow, that looks good. I'm really interested in seeing how it works though......and more detailed pictures. Fouros and Stu probably have the goods.

Yeah, I don't know how they managed to reverse it out of the workshop and up onto the trailer without hitting the problem that Mitch instantly encountered when he backed it off the trailer when it arrived at the Jambo.

Apparently he was "pretty upset" so I'm sure he'll be having words with them.

The sliders were custom fabricated a while back by the same guys that did the SFA conversion; Cheezy Racing.

More pics folks, suspension setup looks bonkers!

The difference between the stock KJ and the NO1KJ is incredible. If I had any concern or criticism it'd be that maybe with such a huge lift it could've done with some widening of the track. Rockwells and 44" Boggers would've done the job!

Pics from underneath of suspension, steering, drivelines, etc? Really interested in how they did the steering. Any pics of it flexed? Can't get enough.

kinda new to all the mods for jeeps. been riding around on trails on stock because of low budget. even took my '00 Grand cherokee on the Broken Arrow trail in Sedona, Az! but the point i was going to make was, Wouldnt that rig roll like a mother? the lift looks nice, but no spacers?

Is there any advantage to having shocks that long? How to they flex through the floor? In the picture of the trunk, it looks like the floor carpet is cut to fit the shock absorber but not the coil as well...?
It's nice to see another SFA rig, they look great. This one does look a tad top-heavy. I'd have my rims out further at least an inch or two.
