Who would have thought, what a bunch of idiots. I have two stickers under the hood which say something about software upgrade, and the stickers have numbers on them, but no TSB number.

edit: just called them and they said "its just labeled wrong, the technicians have all the right sofrware versions back there." I also told them my problem wasnt fixed and they told me to bring it back and that I could drive with a technician and explain it to him. Highly doubt it he will be able to tell something is wrong though, unless he has driven a CRD before.

They told me the same thing (wrong sticker) when they installed 18-015-05 when I brought it in for 18-009-06. When I brought it back to correct it, they kept it for a week because they fried the TCM in the process. They probably have the latest software in yours because DC's computer reads what is on your computer then downloads the latest version (no choice). What's suprising is they don't handle this with some caution due to the F31 recall.

It might be a good idea to download a copy of TSB 18-023-006 and F31 recall from Alldata. It has a detailed explaination of the sticker and the required info. I found that having the TSB in hand stops the BS quickly.

MINE WAS DOING SOMETHING KINDOF LIKE THAT. Hubby used to be a mechanic (Chevy) so he knows how a tranny is supposed to shift. One day he said, oh, that is not right. When it shifts into overdrive it takes FOREVER!! It is like it is stuck for a minute then it finishes shifting. I took it in (before my 36 was out) and they drove it and said they needed to "reprogram the computer" and the EGR was out....again! So now, it is 2 weeks later, and still no EGR in (part had to be ordered) and I am out of my warranty. They told me they would take care of me, but this is getting on my nerves. Now the stuttering is back bad and it still doesn't shift into OD correctly. Waiting for EGR to come in so I can go in and raise ever-living HELL!!! They think this white-chick ain't gonna get loud but they are WRONG!!!

Just got back from the dealer, here is what happened:

Me and the technician went on a test drive, I was driving and he was looking at his computer that he hooked up to the OBD2 port.
I brought 3 different TSB's, the Tranny filter TSB, the one that supersedes 1800609 and the TSB that replaces both TC and Transmission Pump. Everyone kept telling me "Sir we have these here on our computer, there was no need to bring them" And then I told them that I knew that and that I brought them anyway so we could actually look at them and we were all on the same page.

While test driving the technician retrieved the CEL code, which popped up again yesterday. The code had to do something with the TC, I think it was the out of range code. He said that was weird because the TC seemed to lock and unlock perfectly fine. And also, he said that the tranny seemed to behave normal, that the high rpms in OD were normal. Well, obviously he never drove a CRD before.

After arriving at the dealership, they told me they would do some research and make some phone calls. After about 20 min they told me they would replace both TC and pump and that they would call me whenever the parts come in. I was really surprised how easy that was... They also told me it was fine to drive the Jeep, I didnt have to leave it their.

Daniel

If his torque converter fails as he continues to drive while he is waiting on the parts, will the torque converter take out his transmission along with it?

Mine seems like a slow shifter. Seems like there is more of a delay than there should be at certain times...almost like the computer needs a sec to decide which gear it should be in. When I really notice it is when going through the Ft. McHenry tunnel in Baltimore. I roll through the toll booth at about 15mph and then get on it and it seems like a pretty good delay before it will down-shift into the correct gear to get moving...then if I am on the throttle about 3/4 of the way down it will rev up to about 3300 rpm and then shift very very slowly into OD (I see the rpms slowly drop until it finally locks into the first OD). Is this normal? Seems to me this type of slipping would tear up a tranny in short order.

sounds like my problem. When you get to 50-53mph, what are your rpms, how does it shift in to OD? When mine was broke it stayed at around 2000rpm, although it shifted in OD, and the rpms where VERY throttle responsive which they usually never are in OD.

When you hit the 50mph mark and it shifts in OD, your rpms should immediately drop to 1700, IF the vehicle is not under too much load.

Is it normal for your OD to kick in at 50 mph (flat low load)? Most people report higher (mine's around 55). Lower would be nicer for fuel economy.

It only seems to do this when under heavy throttle going uphill. It doesn't go directly to 1700 rpm. Going up the hill after the toll booth with the pedal about 3/4 of the way down it will take off and get about 3200-3300 rpm and then when the OD kicks in it moves very slowly from 3300 rpm down to the normal rpm. Once it is locked in, there is plenty of response, but it just seems like it slips in very slowly when under load and that has me worried.

EDIT: My 1st OD kicks in about 52-53mph and my 2nd doesn't ever kick in before 64-65 mph. I also have the latest TSBs for the ECM and TCM.
