My tranny was starting to shift funny. I just turned 40k on the clock. I changed fluid at 30k. I figured I'd change it after my Jeep Jamboree weekend, but since I got back, it's been shifting WONDERFULLY!

Before, I could catch it off guard by applying a lot of throttle from a rolling stop and it wasn't quite in 1st yet. It might slip then bang into 1st. And some of the upshifts, like 2-3 were a bit more noticeable than before.

Well, as soon as I left the Jeep Jam, the KJ was feeling MUCH MUCH peppier. And, over the last two weeks, I've noticed it's shifting flawlessly!

I'm wondering if there was a re-learning adjustment after spending two full days in 4LO! Whatever, I'm happy and thought I'd share that.

Also, I've got a 10/100k B2B warranty, so either way is fine with me, if you know what i mean. :D

It is just happy you took it Wheelin'! Jeeps always drive better after a weekend of Wheelin' Keep it dirty for a week or three and watch how happy it gets! :D

Seriously though, I have noticed mine feeling better lately too. Those annoying downshifts have lessened and upshifts Do feel firmer. Mine has just over 15k on it and the fluid was changed at 15k. I'm hoping changing it again won't make it go back to it's old ways.

I havn't off roaded mine a lot yet, but since the re-programming for the larger tires I have driven a couple hundred miles in mixed highway/city driving and I am noticing my fuel mileage creeping upward, which makes me happy. The first several days it hovered around 15.3, now it is up to 16 even. Good news!!

I cleaned it after a week. Now it's getting grumpy and shifting is getting not-so-good again. Better than before, but declining.
