Just looking at the article for the recall of 800,000 GM trucks on MSNBC when they mentioned a possible recall on 200,000 02 Libertys for the seatbelt not latching...

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/9130169/

"In separate moves, Hyundai Motor Corp. issued a recall of the 2006 Sonata sedan, and the government announced an investigation of the 2002 Jeep Liberty."

"NHTSA also said it was opening an investigation into the 2002 Jeep Liberty amid complaints about problems latching the seat belt buckle. The probe will involve more than 200,000 vehicles."

How about a recall because the latch engages at the worst possible moments? :D When you try to lean forward to see what's coming up next, and the darn belt latches so you're pinned to your seat. Or, what you want to be pinned to your seat but the belt doesn't latch? :?

Here is a link to check to see if any recalls are required on your KJ. Later...Clint

Nothing exsists for my '02 Limited. (Thanks clint).

FWIW, I've never had a problem with my seatbelt latch.
