Just finished changing the oil and filter. I filled with 6.4 qts. and the dipstick reads right at the add mark. Is this about where everyone else reads after adding 6.4 qts?

I carefully measured and added 6.5 quarts (I just wanted to have a little extra to be safe). This came about 1/4 inch above the add oil mark, and well below the full mark. From what I have heard, DC apparently made the dipsticks slightly too long with the CRD diesel--they should be about 3/8" shorter. I was filling it to the full mark before, and this didn't seem to give any engine problems, but it does result in substantial oil going from the PCV valve to the turbo.

The local dealer where I just had an oil change done said they dump in 7 quarts on the CRDs! Good thing I had taken in 6 qts of Shell Rotella T and forgot the 7th quart bottle or they would have dumped the whole thing in. Once I got home I added another 0.4 qt

Yeah, until I found out about the full mark being too high, I would put in 7 as well. The direct result was the extra 1/2 Qt ending up in my ProVent. I went with 6.5 this time, and am hoping the ProVent drain won't fill up as fast.

You need to let it sit overnight on a level surface. Mine is on add after approx 6.5 quarts but in the morning after everything drains into the oil pan, it reads just a tiny bit below the full mark.
