If you are looking for bigger injectors try to find some for a marine engine. If the 2.8 has a marine application I would guess they would have a higher flow rate. No epa hoops to jump through with marine applications. Come to think of it, a whole lot of neat parts could come off a marine 2.8.
Injectors are usually made in a series of flow rates for that specific externally size injector. Some times it is easy to find them and sometimes it is really hard as they try to camophlage them so you have to go to the dealer and that is the only size you can get.
These are the #s I found on my CRD injector.
R2816K5A
8YZ 02E
0445119 217 (060) the 060 was actually circled
3311 0879 58512
These were the different #s I found on the to of the injector
R2816K5A = Model number of the engine
8YZ02E = Injector adjustment trim code. This is programmed into the ECU whenever a flash is done and/or at End-Of-Line programming in the plant
0445119 217 (060) - I believe this is the part number. I'll check it against some injectors I have here that are old KJ-spec.
There is plenty more power available in the injectors in terms of flow rate capability. However, remember that advancing the timing and increasing the injector energizing duration will thus increase cylinder pressure. Anything over 160 bar for a length of time will destroy the aluminum cylinder head, and the calibration already reaches the cyl. pressure target when at WOT acceleration.
Any marine application for this engine would use same injectors with a different cal in the ECU. However, I don't believe that this particular engine is used for off-road application. The VM Motori "industrial" engines are used for these applications.
