Rev Tek 2" Spacer lift

Hey everyone!

I have read about most all of the various lifts out there and being installed and used by so many of you. I am close to taking the lift step, but costs are a major issue.

However, today I learned, from my dealer, that they have the local Les Schwab store putting the Rev Tek 2" spacer lift on Libertys for them. They happened to have a Renegade on the lot with the Rev Tek lift installed and with stock 235/70-16 tires on it sitting on the lot. The vehicle still looked good with those tires even with the lift; but because of the lift it did look a bit more like it was ready to "get down"!

This lift and installation in within my price range. So ... I am wondering if any of you out there have any experience with this lift? I am in Portland, OR and Rev Tek is apparently a local company here.

I look forward to hearing anything from anyone about this. thanks to all of you in advance.

Sweet, I wish the dealers over here would sell them with a lift in.

The Rev Tek lift has been around awile. Should be a good lift, but it is still just a spacer lift. All of my friends that have Dodge trucks have Rev Tek front spacers.

I have no lift on my KJ but looking at that one it dont look too bad the thing that I am looking at and maby some one else can give some input here when compared to the daystar it looks to be a big "clevis" lift where as the daystar goes between the strut bottom and the spring but the rustys spacer goes on top
I have heard that going on top is bad but I dont know and if going on top is bad then wouldn't the bottom be the same?

Is any body running this lift? I may try to talk the wife into getting it but she drives the KJ every day so it is up to her

I was wrong it goes on top of the spring between the strut and the spring :oops:

I just looked at the instructions on their site

FYI, to anyone concerned I got the Rev Tek 2" spacer lift installed on Tuesday; Monday was spent getting transmission service and new LBJ's - courtesy of the latest recall!

With regard to the lift, I lack the expertise to argue all the pros and cons. However, the value for me was:

1.) Just having a lift.
2.) Someone reputable to install it for me; i.e. Les Schwab Tire Centers - they do a lot of the lifts in the Portland, OR area.
3.) A recommendation from a Jeep Dealer I have come to know and respect; Northwest Jeep, Canyon Road, Portland, OR.
4.) I wanted a bit more ground clearance overall - this lift provides that
5.) Appearance - the Liberty looks SO much better with 2" of lift; it is like a different vehicle

So, the lift is on, no increased tire size for now - but it still looks fine; believe it or not! So for now, just my Les Schwab 235/70-16 XTX all Terrain, Traction Rated, Tires.

On the highway, the vehicle handles fine, in fact there seems to be less body roll. I do not find the suspension noticeably stiffer, in fact I think I like the feel of it better. I haven't been off road with it, so that will have to wait until sometime later. But I did take a road with some pretty serious potholes and I definitely liked the way the vehicle dropped into and pulled out of them. The suspension still felt well managed. A small test, I know, but it gave me a basic idea. Lastly, it now feels like I am getting into and out of a Jeep Vehicle!

I will try to update if any serious issues arise; feel free to ask any questions - I will try to answer if I can!

The Revtek lift was one of the first to come on the scene. It is tried and true...one of the better spacer lifts available today. There shouldn't be any CV joint (or warranty) issues because it is only 2". Good choice for those on a budget and those concerned about any potential problems resulting from installing some of the bigger lifts.

Now go wheel that thing!

I have the RRO 2 inch spacer lift (not the OTT! ) and i like it. I am asuming that its very close to the revtech, same spacer size and everything. I have not had any problems with it except for clunking when the struts completly extend... Good lift.

I am on the fence in deciding between a $200 spacer lift and a $500 coil spring lift. I want to save money, but won't that "clunking" that you hear eventually destroy your struts?

That lift worked fine on my friends KJ and he still has it on...but you do need to replace the rear shocks with something longer...

Since the COG is raised, top of the line shocks and longer rear shocks do make a diff in handling.

YOUR TIRES WILL STILL RUB :lol:

I have the RevTek lift on my '02 KJ. It's has given me ZERO problems over the past 3 years. I'm running 245/75/16 MTRs. I have parked beside '06s with the 2.5" lift and I sit around the same height because of the prelowered springs. I also added longer rear shocks for increased travel.

Darby: Which lift are you referring to -- the RevTek or RRO Combo?

Sorry, I haven't been back in here in a few days, so I took a couple of minutes to catch up on the responses and comments here.

First I am glad to hear that most of the responses were favorable; especially since I have the lift installed!

Second there was a question about the total cost for kit and installation, I am sorry I didn't make note of the member's name. The cost here in Portland, Or, at the Les Schwab store, was $537. That is the total for the kit, which normally sells for about $250, the install which took about 3 hours, and a new alignment.

I have taken it out and worked it a little, mostly just getting used to a bit more clearance on my Libby! Boy is that ever nice!

The only issue I have so far is that I get an occassional "creaking" sound; usually when am backing out of a parking area and turning the wheel at the same time. The sound is not overly pronounced, I actually have to be listening for it most of the time and it is not something I can reproduce consistently. The sound reminds me of what a pickup bed sounds like when they twist or torque a bit. However, over the two weeks I have had the kit on, this sound seems to exhibit itself less and less frequently.

So far I am pleased.

I would also like to take this opportunity to extend to each and everyone of you my thanks and appreciation. Since I stumbled onto this site about a year and a half ago I have gotten so much good info and advice from everyone here. The posts, responses and comments have helped me very much.
