Order part number 53013719AA from the dealer, just don't tell them what it's for, lol. That is the actual dipstick listed in StarParts for a 2007 Liberty. Retail is $7.70, so it's worth it.

If the new tube isn't exactly the same length as the old tube using a dipstick from an older Libby won't give you a correct reading.

How about a picture of the whole engine? Did you remove your air intake box? See the picture Corwyyn posted. That box that says Power Vtech 3.7L, on it. Your's looks totally different.

They took that off after 03. My 04 doesnt have it either. His does seem to have that electronic throttle.. I hate those things. I would say its easier on the engine though. Lots of torque management.. 8)

psst. I'm a chick, :D I just hate to be clueless about cars & engines etc... so I'm trying to learn so I can help my dad out as much as possible about this engine. As soon as it hits 3k, I'm switching it out to syn on the next oil change. And def throw in the K&N air filter. I DO like how easy it is to get to the oil filter. In my saturn I have to take the passenger tire off just to change the darn thing.
here is the pic of the engine, as much as my short self could get w/o standing on a chair. No mods, just nice and clean

Looks like there's also a new A/C Compressor.

I heard about this too. It must be some trickery by the OEM's to generate more business with the dealership service bays I tell you.

parents exploder has a sealed tranny, have to take it in for service periods or it isnt covered if something happens. which is pretty lame

You need to recheck your numbers pal, I ordered that dipstick, it was finally delivered today and that dipstick is 40 inches long end to end and bottoms out 4 inches before the pull handle even reaches the end of the tube....but it does have the part# you show
