I need some pics of the skink sliders on a 2002-2004 liberty. Not just from the side, but looking up under the jeep/slide/good detailed pics.

Thanks guys!

Yup, Ive emailed all of those. Ive got a guy making me some as we speak and he was needing some more pics. He has a libby at his work and was confused where to take all the measurements..

He needs to see a pic of where the sliders mount on the frame/pinch welds..

Thanks though!

Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. I suppose Marty will be flattered though his wallet probably won't appreciate it.

Im not imitating the sliders. Im just making something that will protect the sides of my jeep and needed something to go by. Im getting these made for around $150. Alot cheaper than anyone could of gotten them to my door for.

Honestly, if your custom guy was anygood, he would not need the pictures. Before Marty made the skinks, the only ones he had seen were my home brew ones, and frankly he laughed at them...

Haha, this is the first time hes ever done something like this. He had never worked nor been around jeeps and never made a part like this before. Im fairly sure that Marty has made these for xj's along time.

Anyway, thanks for the awesome help guys.. Seems like Im getting crap b/c im trying to save some money and not buy from someone on the board.. IF I had the money I wouldnt have a problem buying from someone on here. BUT I DONT!!!

What is the problem, the guy is just trying to improve his jeep and save a buck. I don't think he is trying to steel a design, he is just looking for help. I thought that is what this board was about? He wasn't even the one that said something about looking at Marty's.

Actually, he asked about the skink sliders which are Martys/Rock Lizards design.

I dont see any problem with getting ideas from someone elses design. People do it all the time. It would be crazy to set out to make something and not take the time to study what has been done already. Even if they were patented I dont think it would be illegal to make a set for yourself, as long as you are not copying and reselling them for a profit.

Ok, I missed that, but I still don't see a problem with saving a buck. People use similar designs of products all of the time, don't see a problem with that. I doubt that they will be identical anyway.

Personally I don't see a problem just messing around. GO ahead and and get that KJ as rock solid as possible.
