Do you "Feel" a difference in the driver seat? ~Su

So as some of you know I've been inquiring about all sorts of stuff to do to this KJ I'm taking over once I sell my truck so I have another question for those of you whom have installed the suspension lifts. As you can see in my signature (My truck) I was running a 6" fabtech kit on it and when I went from the stock suspension, tires, and wheels to what it is today, I notice a considerable difference in how the truck rides and performs. I noticed the wobblies (I like to make up words but you get the point) went away with the wider stance, the ride stiffened up but I didn't feel the jaring normally experienced from a stiffer setup.

As some of you have said, it's worth the extra cash to go with a suspension lift over a spacer lift. At the moment, the stock ride is ok, but with this new lift will I achieve a plusher feeling ride with better handling? I feel lots of pot hole blasts with the stock suspension and i'm just wondering if the new suspension lift will handle better by removing the wobbly wobbles and also ease up a bit on the "bomb hole" pot holes that Cleveland boasts... I don't feel a thing in my truck, but with the stock KJ I've noticed a rougher feeling ride in comparison.

I'm running the ever popular Frankenlift and moabs with MTRs in the 245/7r size. I ordered the stiffest OME springs for my frankenlift too. The wheels did increase the track width slightly. The new suspension feels much more firm and positive on-road. The lift does an excellent job absorbing big bumps and holes. However, I will say that without any additional weight up front (winch or bumper), I do tend to feel a rougher ride on poor, uneven roads. Tire pressure adjustment can help with that, and I have not replaced my lower ball joints, so maybe they are contributing. There is also a slight amount of bumpsteer. I DO like the way my KJ rides more now with the lift and tires than I did before. I feel like the firm suspension improves the "feel" of the road, and offers more flexibility and cushion on larger obstacles. Hopefully when I get my balljoints replaced and some of Al's A-arms, it will be smooth sailing.

I'm Frankenlifted too, but I am running Ranchos in the front rather than OME. I had the OME origionally and felt a little squishy in front. After other problems I went with the Ranchos and love them. I feel that there is much less body roll especially in the passenger seat. (yes, i rode there just once or twice to see) It handles the bumps much better and feels more solid in cornering as well. All in all, I wouldn't own a KJ without one. The soft factory springs suck in comparison.

I've been lifted so long that I can't remember what the stock ride was like.
I'm sure the bigger tires asorb the holes better than the stock ones, the Rancho struts and shocks are a plus over stock.

If your running stock tires-- they stink. Just replacing the tires with something better would make your ride nicer. But the lift is much better still.

I just did a spacer lift on my CRD and put on some pro comp tires at the same time. There is more road feel but definately not harsh. The jeep handles just the same as before the lift, which I contribute to the FAR supior tires. The stock tires suck so bad...
