Man I missed out for sure. Looks like a great time!

As for the hide-a-key, there are lots of places on the frame to hide it up and away. That's all I'll say :D:D

You can get a non-sentry key cut anywhere, and about all its good for is unlocking a door. If you start the engine with it the jeep will shut off in about 30 secs or less.

The rocks were all sand stone so traction was never a real problem. One of us even had stock tires and did fine on the rocks. Several places would have been impossible without some lift and there was one place, Jeepjeepster had to use the by-pass because his sliders were not installed yet. We all also had armor. There were a few places I would have been really worried if we had someone without it.

not much. the sandstone had a lot of grab, unless you got leaves or moss. One guy had an open diff, and my ESP went out for the worst section, but we all made it.

The ESP worked great, until I had to get over some mud to get to the cave. I think I was giving it too much gas for too long, and the ESP BAS (break assist) light came on and never went off. After that, until after the wicked section, I had NO ESP. I guess parking for 15 minutes while everyone else came up caused it to reset (although the hour long lunch didn't seem to help reset it...)

i still have the stock SR-A's and they did great on the sandstone, but sucked in the mud. i would have done that run without a lift, but not without 4 skid plates and rock rails. i could tell a HUGE difference wheeling with the extra 3+" the frankenlift gave. i also now think my 20' recovery strap needs a big brother

The part that you broke the rock on would off been alittle worse without the lift moose. If you had a stronger tranny skid like eddo has, you wouldnt have any troubles without a lift.

I do not believe your tranny skid likes you right now though..

We all used our skids at some point today. Moose and I used the tranny and gas tank skid a few times for sure. :)

Maybe your right... I do not want to be one to say that a KJ can not do something. Lord knows, there are too many out there who do that for me. There were just a few spots I thought an unlifted KJ would have trouble getting an angle without hitting the front bumper. I guess we would have had to just find more rocks to pile up to get the tire onto the rock ledge.

Hey, I did Slade w/o lift or rock rails (I took them off before to sell them), however, this trail was more aggressive than Slade. I bent the trany skid about an inch or so...

We also took some harder lines than we did at Slade. Especially where you cracked the rock and bend the side. There was a much easier bypass but we all opted for the more difficult route.

Also, we only did a little more than half the trail till before we decided to hit the hard packed dirt road, because it was getting late. I'd like to see the rest.

Count me in! I got home at about 11:30pm which was not too bad considering we stopped for dinner. I will have to see if I will drive down the night before again next time. It is about 4 hour to Livingston so a 5am is not too bad but sleeping till 7am was also pretty nice.

As for the keys.....
I learned that lesson too - Toys for tots parade in mid dec last year....
now I got used to leaving a crack on window or taking keys off
last but not least - keep the spare in your pocket
I also almost went for the back small window breaking but luckyly somebody had a slim jim...

Yup. Only a portion of it is open to motor vehicles though.

I say we put together another ride there. Looks like you guys had a blast! Do they close for the winter? Maybe we can plan an early pring ride in March, pre-Moab.

Tokyojoe is going to be out in December, how about a run then? Depending on everyones schedule, it could be the 16th, 23rd or the 30th. I'm going to run a new thread for a poll...
