From what I understand is easy/moderate w/ the moderate being spots that are optional. Any Jeep you own would work fine I'm sure.

Anyone going?

I'll be there on Friday only.

There is a posibility Saturday might be an option for me. That is if it is alright to tag along. I might be getting a roof rack that day though. Who should I contact / or meet up if I go Sat?

Here's a few links to some of the photos I have taken over the years at Afton Canyon. Lots of interesting stuff to see like an old mining area where you can drive over railroad ties, Spooky Canyon, at least 2 water crossings (maybe more depending), drive along railroad tracks as the train goes by, and just a lot of beautiful scenery. Amasing most people drive to/from Vegas and never really know what beauty is in the desert along I-15.

From my first trip in May of 2002 after High Desert Roundup. I first read about Afton Canyon in a Canadian 4wd magazine believe it or not.

Ok..here is the plan for the Turkey Crawl....on Friday November 24th....we will be running the traditional Odessa/Doran loop in Calico....Meeting spot will be the 76 station at the Ghost Town Road offramp off of the 15 freeway...meeting time will be 830 am, we will leave for the trail head at 9am...if you are going to be late...please let someone know and we will wait for you..if we do not hear anything we will leave promptly at 9am. We will be stopping on the trail for lunch so make sure you bring water and whatever else you might need. To do this trail you rig must be lifted with skids and rocker protection, you can get thru with an open diff, but be prepared to get strapped in a couple of spots, its really a fun trail with alot of cool stuff to see.

on Sat November 25th....we will be Running Mule Canyon also in Calico...its not a difficult trail, but has some spots that could be challenging, we will be tieing this trail into the back half of the Odessa Canyon run, so it will be easier at the start...more difficult at the end, but we will be able to get anyone thru...Start time will be the same as above, and again bring a lunch

thats the Plan..I hope we can get a good turnout...I will be up there on thur night thru sat at the Motel 6 in Barstow, I beleive we are going to put together a group dinner friday night...the place TBD at this point..any questions please PM me..thanks...Wally

Hey Wally: Saturday meeting place?

LT and I will be rolling in from Payson AZ Thursday. Dinner at 6pm at Bun Boy?

Re: Friday dinner. Suggest that Italian restaurant you, me, and dynamike ate at. Or perhaps that Calico Ghost Town restaurant we saw last year, if they're open.
