Getting ready to install a Daystar lift, 1.5" front/2" rear, and this morning I noticed that my front springs around the struts look really compressed, even when the KJ has no load in the vehicle. There's very little space in between the coils, so the springs don't look very "springy." However, I don't notice any difference is the ride quality or vehicle stance. I know the front coils are wound tighter than the rear springs. Is this something I need to be concerned with? I've never paid attention to them before, so I have no basis for comparison.

i had a 3" spacer up front and i thought the same thing, ive got 20,000 on my rough country lift and nothing is wrong with the front end, rides the same. aside from the recently added ARB and Winch which makes it very soft and bottoms out often. in the process of tryin to find CRD springs to help out my front end.

Rough Country Lift here too. I replaced the front struts with Rancho struts. They wore out in a year. I am now replacing them and this time adding Daystar strut plates. I've heard that Old Man Emu sells struts for lifted Libbys.

Just realized my strut springs look like the ones in the lift kit instructions, so I'm not worried any more, especially after reading these replies.

Springs must be playing w/ your eyes. Considering you don't have prelowered springs...you probably just have a lower setting spring and its playing w/ your mind. If you're worried later on down the road...find some cheap CRD or Prelowered springs and add them to gain a little more.

I'm guessing you are adding the lift w/ the help of a clevis lift if you dont already have it done?
