Just wanted to see if anyone would be interested in planning a trip march 3rd to the anza borega desert... I've never been before and i heard that it was a pretty good time. if anyone is interested just let me know so that we can try to plan something.

we've been wanting to go back, ever since we busted our swaybar disconnect 'boot'. i do volunteer camera work for the Aztecs and their last game of the season is march 3rd so i can't. my husband works for SDSU athletics and is always needed during the games too. we're trying to weasel our way into a trip to "the big dance" the following week/weekend so we wouldn't be free until March 17th. but we do know the way and have the gps trails marked already. and what day to anza isn't complete without a piece of apple pie in julian?

I think that may be the weekend for Tierra Del Sol, and if so there'll be about 2.5 gillion vehicles there running all over the place. Sometimes the trails are blocked for hours if people have problems. Just wanted to alert you.

However, maybe you and the group would like to attend that event as a group. There's a HUGE raffle and most everyone has a great time. Dry camping in the desert, or stay at fairly local motels.

I just got word today that i'm going to be leaving in september for Counter Drug Ops in south america... so i may possibly be on work ups then... but if not that date is fine with me. a friend of mine here in san diego that has a lifted liberty said that he has trails on his land that go up in the mountains in east county. i think that he said they go up to like 6000 ft of elevation. he said that the liberty wheelbase is pretty much the max on the trail due to the size of some of the trails mixed with some tight turns. i'm going to go run it in a couple of weekends, and if it is worth while i may talk to him about having a group run out there if anyone is interested.
