Code P0130

We just got back from a 3000 mile camping trip towing the trailer (2800#) and was very pleased with the CRD but now I have a Code P0130. No check engine light just the code. According to OldNavy list this is a “Heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) 1, bank 1 – circuit malfunction Heating inoperative, poor connection, wiring, HO2S Oxygen sensor (O2S) 1, bank 1 – circuit malfunction Wiring, O2S, ECM”. Of course I passed up the 36,000 mile bumper-to bumper warrantee.
Has anybody else had this code?
Is it serious enough for me to take it to the dealer? The CRD is running fine but I do need to take it in for the ball joint recall.
Yes I have had the EGR replaced and do run a Provent.

How did you read the code? If the odometer trick was used, it has a slight flaw - it transposes the last 2 digits of the error code. If that was the case, your P0130 is actually a P0103 a high MAF signal indicator, which can be set by disconnecting the MAF connector on the airbox when changing the filter, and starting the engine with it disconnected. I even had it set once just by disconnecting the connector, changing the air filter, putting the connector back in and then starting the engine. The PCM senses the voltage readings going high without a load and sets a code. Don't ask me how I know... it will eventually clear on its own, after about 50 drive cycles, normally obtained in about 3 weeks of normal driving.

If it's a real P0130, never mind!

The odometer trick is what I used and I did changed the air cleaner before I left at about 30,000 miles. I hoe it goes away as you say after 50 drive cycles. Thanks

?! Wait a minute, the odometer trick transposes the last two numbers?! I think that I took mine to the dealer on a code and I think I remember that they got the same codes (for the EGR). However, I didn't use the scan tool myselfto verify.

Do we have a concensus on this odometer thing? Anybody else notice that? Check with a scantool at Advance Auto Parts (free) and see what it says.

Mine has been this way from the first day I compared the key reading trick to my OBDII software reader. It's just my CRD - the key trick on my 02 Limited Liberty reads correctly. No big deal if you know about it. I've seen it on one other CRD that a coworker owned. His P0401 read P0410 just as mine did on the odometer with the key sequence.

What is the sequence to retrieve the codes anyway. I've fiddled with it a couple of times without success.

Should still be under emissions warranty I'd bet.
