I just sent a long e-mail to jp mag conserning them being bias about the wranglers and explaned to them that the kj deserves more respect and more articles.I think we as club members and advid kj lovers we need to e-mail them to show our interest in the libby.

JP magazine is a lost cause as long as Capa is still the editor. Just look at the e-mails they get in the editorial. Half of them are complaints and all they do is rip on you for complaining.

Just like Shock Jocks. People keep going back for more no matter how biased, rude, crude, and socially unacceptable it is, people become moths to a light.

.....and by continuing this ranting about JP Mag....like its the only 4X4 publication out there......we are perpetuating exactly what Tokyojoe just said.

So, with that, heres my solution to the WHOLE dilema of that which is JP magazine:

Stop caring about them, its a useless rag (except for toiletry purposes) stop reading it and paying for it......simple.

There are dozens if not hundreds of other 4x4 publications out there....a number of which support the Liberty.....

A good example of an ONLINE FREE publication that supports the Liberty and its ongoings is JPFreek.

http://www.jpfreek.com

Great bunch of guys there of which whom I have been personally in contact with.

Forget this JP Mag business guys.....seriously let it go. They're not going to change, why do we care....we know what our Liberty can do. No need to prove a point....just go wheel and love it for what it is.

A group of people and their trucks are more powerful and more important than what any magazine is.....evertime you write or spend time flipping through their garbage you give them the satisfaction of what they want....attention and advertising. Ignore them and pretend they don't even exist. As the consumer, you OWN their very livelihood.

I for one must respectfully disagree, there's an old saying, in order for evil to trimph, is for good men to do nothing. If it makes you feel better, then write to them, I believe I will as well. The reason being, jp is a very good mag over all. There's a lot of usefull tech info, builds, trail updates, jeep news from DC and one of the few publications dedicated to jeeps only. It can also be humorous and pretty funny at times. As I'm looking to do a yj project next, the info from jp can be quite valuble to me. There's power in numbers, enough letters and e-mails, a lot of pitures being sent and seeing kj's out on the trail would have to have an impact. Capa may never like kj's, but he may not be so fast to bad mouth them. Every one can fight this battle in thier own way, some may choose to ignor, others won't buy the rag and others will write in. People have different personalites and different makeup, so thier responces will be different. Like the poster, I've never been one to set by when an injustice is a occuring, if nothing else, I will speak my mind.

Writing to them just gives them ammo. They will probably post one of the letters and then slam it so their audience can cheer and laugh at the whiney KJ owners some more. JP doesn't exist. I buy mags that cover All Jeeps And other 4x4's so I can learn about other vehicles too. I see no reason to try to convice them when there are other magazines that get it.
Might as well write to a Harley mag to convince them that other motorcycles exist too.

Well, A Harley mag is for Harleys, not other motorcycles. But if that Harley mag ragged on other Harley's and only supported , say, Fatboy's, then it would be like JP rag.

JP is supposed to be about Jeeps, hence its name. So they should support Jeeps as a whole.

The best idea is to send your rantings to the owners of the mag, not the rag itself. Owners want the bottom line and that is money, if they see that advertisers will get boycotted and sales of the mag go down, they will step in and do something about it, even if they did agree with the idiot editor.

But why would we want JP mag to feature or even care about KJ's when other mags are doing a fine job of it. Seems like a waste of time and energy to convert a group that doesn't care. I look at JP as a mag for CJ's and some Wranglers and thats it. They can keep their narrow focus, I'll read 4WD&SUV.

I think the advantage of getting JP magazine and other magazines like that to take us seriously is that the aftermarket manufacturers will start to take us more seriously. I'm glad to see the few manufacturers that have taken us seriously are producing quality parts and we're buying them.

I get four wheeler, 4-wheel offroad, jp and offroad adventure and none of these has much about the kj. Where are these friendly jk mags in which you speak, not that the ones I get are unfriendy toward the liberty, except for jp, but there isn't much in them about the kj. Does that offroad suv mag have more kj articles in it, thats one I don't get. Does anyone have a link where it can be ordered ? Is there any other mags that have kj stuff in them from time to time ?

While I whole-heartedly believe that "in order for evil to trimph, is for good men to do nothing," I don't really feel the personal drive in this case to "do something" about a group of people that can't stand the vehicle I drive. It's cool that some do, but I associate this "battle" with the battle to win over a bunch of anti-KJ jerks on a specific online forum that shall remain nameless. In that case, good men created a better place for us to visit online where that kind of behavior isn't tolerated....LOST. The same happened in the magazine world. 4WD&SUV. Is "evil" really "winning" because they have their world where they increase their own self-worth by demeaning others?

Not to mention, I would hardly classify the wandering poorly educated thoughts of a magazine editor as "evil" in the first place.

ITS A MAGAZINE.....thats all....not some worldly powerful being that is creating evil around the globe...geez it even printed poorly on bad paper.....designed poorly, thought out poorly....waste of time and money.

All that you're going to achieve by writing them and sending pictures is straight up flaming and thats about it. They'll have a laugh...."Awww look at the cute KJ with the lame guy driving on the little rock"....and that'll be it...so don't waste your time or give them ammo to use against us...just ignore it....don't buy it and don't support it......

Bottom line and end of the day....who really gives a s**t.

Theres more important things to worry about out there than what some dude at tiny publication is writing about a particular model of vehicle.......

EG: Global Terrorism, National Security, Taxes, Death, that stain on my carpet, "did I refill the ice cube tray", "shoot I forgot my pen".....etc etc.
