What's the best way?
When you change(d) your front diff oil did you
1. Just drain it? or
2. Remove cover?

Planning on using a LLR-C825 LubeLocker gasket on the rear.
I read some of you have used them already, Anybody got leaks so far?

If you take the fronty cover off, would you use a LLR-D030 Lubelocker (Dana 30) ?

I seem to remember that I had to remove the cover on ours.

It was a steel plate and had RIV nuts with bolts like my other skids.

The front diff has a drain plug, I used it and didn't pull the cover. Not to speak for him, but I think Old Navy is referring to the front skid plate which has to come off to access the diff.

GDE Eco-tune, rear differential drain plug (drilled and tapped the pumpkin), transmission pan drain plug, Fumoto oil valve, fuel filler neck restriction removed, front hitch, Hayden fan clutch, Sears P1 battery since 08, Mobil 1 5w40, 5 volt glow plugs, DIY timing belt at 109k

Correct there are drain and fill plugs, no RTV needed.

( OldNavy, that's OK).
So why do you think the front comes stock with a drain plug
and not the back?
Do you think it's better to remove the front diff cover to
get it cleaned out better?
(BTW, I'm still not convinced that the diff OCI has to be as
often as DC schedules it, but you know, warranty.....).
Plan on putting in AMSOIL, and I wonder if JJ will then recommend
that I can extend the OCI and still be warranty compliant.

I don't see a problem using Amsoil Severe Gear and extending the service interval, however only your dealer can tell you Their stance on that situation. I do know that Amsoil would fight any claims by a dealer that a failure was caused by an Amsoil product and extended service interval. Amsoil has Never lost a fight about their products or suggested extended service intervals.
Considering the minor cost to DIY, I would suggest following the MFG's service interval (for the front diff) until out of warranty for peace of mind.
