I was driving down the road last night and my libby started to beep at me at first I thought it was the low fuel light but it never came on and I had a quarter of a tank, Then i noticed that my odometer was blinking. LOWASH it said. I have a fairly base model, cassette deck, ac, power steering and 4x4 are just about the only options i have on mine. This am i was looking at some of the lights on the guage cluster I noticed one for trans temp and one for cruise. Does this mean that the cruse is on the libby I just dont have the buttons? Just a thought also what other Bells and whistles should i expect? i never had a vehicle that would tell me to fill the windshield wash before. just wondering what else i can expect.

I doubt you would have the cruise control, since it requires hardware under the hood along with the buttons to activate it. As for the trans temp, I think that is a standard feature for all automatics, but I am not sure if it means anything if you have a standard tranny.

The Liberty is the most outsourced vehicle D/C every made up to that point, and the guage clusters are made in the thousands and are universal to keep costs low. In a nushell, it's cheaper to build them all the same, even if it means putting the same lightbulbs and printed circuit boards in them, than it is to make different ones for different models and keep track of which ones go in which models based on the options.
