The Fumoto sounds like a headache. I asked the guy at Advance Auto Parts if they had a Fumoto. He checked his computer and said Fram makes a drain valve for the CRD but of course he did not have it in stock. Are there other (less buggy) options out there? Is the Fram crap?
The Fram drain valve is a piece of crap and I will bet they do not have one to fit as they only make about 1/2 dozen models. I had one of those crappy things on a Toyota and ended up tossing it in the trash where it belonged.

Realize that Fumoto didn't make one to fit our odd-threaded drain pan and so Greg of lubricationspecialist.com (in partnership w/Old Navy) fabricated an adapter to make it work. i.e. it's not quite the plug & play it should be but at least it's an option, and a relatively seamless one, thanks to them.

I've seen Fumoto mentioned so many times, I thought it was the thing. Is it much harder to just keep fishing my plug out of the bucket of scalding hot oil? :P

well if you want to ... you could just keep the plug in your drain bucket all the time after you install the fumoto ... they seem to want to go there all the time anyway.

I just did my first change after putting the Fumoto in ... nice and easy drain .. no muss ...
